Travel Tip: The farms we’ve recommended visiting on Saturday offer plenty of farm-fresh goods, but none are ready to eat. Plan a farm-to-table brunch stop at an eatery along your route. Some great options include Small B&B and Cafe, Phoenix Bakery, and Breakaway Cafe. West End Kitchen & Catering sits next to Solstice Herb Farm, a great pitstop for handmade skincare products made with locally grown botanicals and herbs.

  • 12pm-1:30pm: Take a guided tour of Green Heal Farms in Snow Camp for a look at Kenny and Courtney Boodman’s no-till organic farm. Find produce and fresh-cut flowers.
  • 2pm-3:30pm: Head to Celebrity Dairy and experience kidding season on the farm, complete with award-winning Chèvre. If you’re staying at the Inn, now’s your time to check in before the next stop.
  • 4pm-5:30pm: Your final stop of the day takes you to Little Way Farm, a family-owned regenerative homestead just outside downtown Siler City offering pasture-raised poultry, 100% grass-fed beef and lamb, woodland-raised pork, cream-top dairy, and raw honey.
  • 6pm: Grab dinner in town at one of Siler City’s many restaurants. The Broken Spit, Crossroads Grill, and Hayley Bales Steak House are all popular among locals. Consider a nightcap at Thirsty Skull Brewing – Siler City, then head back to the Inn for a restful evening.

Travel Tip: Nearby airbnbs, like Cedar Serenity Guesthouse, are a great way to put what you bought to good use for a seasonal, stay-at-home dinner. Pair with a great bottle of wine from locally-owned FireClay Cellars. Traditional accommodations are also available nearby in Siler City (Days Inn & Suites, AmeriVu Inn, and the Siler City Motor Lodge) and Pittsboro (Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Pittsboro, 458 West Bed & Breakfast, and Small B&B and Cafe).

  • 10am: Depending on your accommodations, start the morning with a delicious farm-to-table breakfast from Celebrity Dairy or in-town at one of our many locally-owned restaurants.
  • 12pm-1:30pm: Your second day of farm tours begins at Chatham Oaks Farm, featuring u-pick strawberries and local blooms.
  • 2pm-3:30pm: Head up to Granite Springs Farm for a tour and your choice of organically grown vegetables, fruits, microgreens, and turmeric.
  • 4pm-7pm: Finally, head to The Plant for a tasting at Starrlight Mead, followed by a tour of Little Pond Gardens. Savor authentic Jamaican food from Kingston 99 Kitchen made with local ingredients, including Scotch Bonnet peppers grown just fifty feet away!

Before You Go

  • The tour is self-guided and takes place rain or shine.
  • Bring a cooler to take home farm-fresh products for sale.
  • Make sure to bring cash – not all farms can accept credit card payments.
  • The registration fee is $35. Your button is your car pass – good for a full carload of people.
  • Please note that the tour is not wheelchair accessible. Some farms may have easier access than others, but no farms have public buildings with ADA-compliant features. It’s also hard to say definitively whether a farm will have easier access, because the status can change with the weather, and the tour is rain or shine. Please reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions about accessibility.
