Green Heal Farms

DESCRIPTION

Kenny and Courtney Boodman started Green Heal Farms in Snow Camp, NC (Chatham County) with a straightforward mission: that food grown in healthy soil tastes different, and that people should be able to see exactly where it comes from. Their small market farm practices no-till organic growing — a method that leaves the soil’s structure and microbiology largely undisturbed, building fertility from the ground up rather than working against it. The result shows up in the vegetables. Butter head lettuce, Swiss chard, early spring greens, cucumbers, and local cut flowers, all grown without synthetic chemicals, harvested close to home, and sold directly to the people who will eat them.

Green Heal Farms has become a familiar presence at Chatham Mills Farmers Market. On the farm itself, Kenny and Courtney welcome visitors who want to understand what no-till organic growing actually looks like in practice.
