When CVB Director Neha Shah first began developing tourism assets in Chatham County, she saw considerable potential and opportunities in both existing sites and potential new locations. There has been a gradual growth in various activities: more year-round farmers markets, an explosion of events ranging from small-scale to major festivals, and a wealth of small business owners creating award-winning products and services.
Some pockets of Chatham County remained still for a long while. “What can I do in Moncure? Can I stay there? What can I see, and why would I go?” The CVB loves to hear these types of questions because we have a wealth of information to share.
What is happening in Moncure? We have often touted our venues as a place to Meet and Marry. The CVB considers our area the unofficial capital of North Carolina for rustic-elegant weddings.
