Shop Small 2019

Small Business Saturday (November 30) is in its 10th year! It is an annual shopping tradition during the holiday gift-giving season and encourages support for local businesses across the United States. In 2018, U.S. consumers spent an estimated $17.8 billion at independent retailers and restaurants on SBS.Custom_Profile_Picture

The Pittsboro-Siler City CVB is happy to be part of this initiative for a decade, and among more than 7,500 Neighborhood Champions helping to rally our community, for so many reasons. Data shows that 96% of consumers who report shopping on this day also say that it encourages them to want to Shop Small all year long! Many visitor businesses are small, independently-owned, and focus on local product and services (owners from the area who love sharing it with guests).

Chatham County offers an abundance of small visitor-related businesses; many of them bring unique, local products and experiences to our guests, whether traveling on their own, as a group, for work, while visiting friends and family, visiting surrounding areas, and for many other purposes.

Join us this month as we celebrate local small businesses, including wine makers, innkeepers, shop owners, chefs, restaurateurs, and the many people in the tourism and hospitality industry that strive to share their spirit through products and services to make your stay an exceptional and memorable one. We will conclude the month with #ShopSmall Saturday, November 30 and a wish that we all share the spirit of supporting local businesses year-round.

#ShopSmall year-round
