Farm to Table Outdoor Cooking Camp: Summer 2026

June 19 @ 8:45 am - 3:00 pm

Join the Circle City chef for a week of outdoor culinary skill-building during this Farm to Table Outdoor Cooking Camp: Summer 2026, hosted Mon, Jun 15-Fri, Jun 19, 8:45am-3pm! Campers, ages 7+, will start the day tending and harvesting in the beautiful Little Pond Gardens, a privately owned garden space with an outdoor kitchen and acres of trails, a creek, and nature to explore.

This camp is designed to engage children in hands-on cooking activities using fresh ingredients harvested directly from an on-site garden. Alongside learning essential cooking techniques, kids enjoy outdoor adventures such as hiking scenic trails and playing in a nearby creek, fostering a connection with nature and promoting active, healthy lifestyles. Such a camp offers a unique blend of culinary arts and outdoor adventure, making it an enriching summer experience that nurtures both creativity and a love for the natural world. The entire day will be spent outside. All food is prepared in their rustic outdoor garden kitchen space.

KEY FEATURES

  • Garden-to-Table Cooking: Campers participate in harvesting fresh vegetables and herbs from the garden, then use these ingredients in cooking sessions to prepare simple, wholesome meals and snacks.
  • Outdoor Exploration: Daily hikes on shaded trails lead kids to unique natural destinations, offering opportunities to observe wildlife, learn about local ecosystems, and develop outdoor skills.
  • Creek Water Play: Children splash and explore the creek, discovering aquatic creatures and engaging in supervised water play that encourages curiosity and sensory experiences with nature.
  • Hands-on Cooking Instruction: Friendly, skilled instructors guide campers through cooking basics and more advanced techniques appropriate for their age, including measuring, mixing, safe knife skills, and, if outdoor cooking is involved, fire management.
  • Nature-Based Learning: The camp integrates environmental education, teaching kids about nutrition, food origins, and ecological stewardship through interactive activities such as nature crafts and wildlife observation.
  • Social and Life Skills: Beyond cooking and nature, campers build confidence, teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and respect for the outdoors in a supportive, fun environment.

The price for campers is $395 per week, with a $25 discount per sibling. This includes all meals and snacks, so there is no need to pack one. Camp tuition is non-refundable but is transferable. See more camps.
