Come celebrate the season and the ultimate summer flavor at Pittsboro Farmers Market’s 4th Annual Tomato Fest Thu, Jul 18, 3pm-6pm. Their vendors will share recipes and samples, and of course, there will be plenty of tomatoes for purchase. Plus, don’t miss their annual Tomato Pie Contest! Anyone may enter free of charge. Two prizes will be awarded: Top Tomato, as judged by their panel of judges, and People’s Choice, as judged by you – their market patrons – who sample and vote on the pies. Winners receive bragging rights and market swag, and the Top Tomato will receive an extra special hand-carved medallion. To enter the contest, please complete this short Google form. All entrants must register by Tuesday, July 16 to be included in the contest.

Pittsboro Farmers Market is open year-round with select items from within a 50-mile radius of the market. They are open Thu, 3pm-6pm under the solar panels at The Plant. The product-only market features baked goods, eggs, flowers, honey, jams/jellies, soaps, plants, poultry, and other meats. Vendors include Celebrity Dairy, Fiddlehead Farm, In Good Heart Farm, and Vortex Roasters.
