Agritourism

Farms, weekly farmers’ markets, a culinary institute with a farm to fork cafe, and many farm to table places to eat all make our destination worth the trip. Farmlife is celebrated here, with an annual festival (almost five decades) featuring a variety of demonstrations (including making old-fashioned ice cream, or steam cream), and new features each year that make the event a tradition. Food events, farm tours, and seasonal farms for berries, pumpkins, and Christmas trees are part of our scene. Find locally made products in our boutiques, online, and at eateries throughout North Carolina.
Mead, cider, wine, and beer are all produced in our area, with some talented farmers working with our brewers, distillers, and winemakers.
