Fearrington Farmers Market

DESCRIPTION

For more than three decades, the Fearrington Farmers’ Market has connected Chatham County’s growers with chefs, locals, and visiting foodies. Located in Fearrington Village, the market is strictly producer-only, meaning everything sold is grown, baked, tended, or preserved by the farm or business that brings it to market. A 50-mile sourcing radius keeps the focus tightly local, drawing producers from Chatham and adjacent counties. On any given week, shoppers will find vegetables, fruits, meats, eggs, flowers, home-canned goods, and baked goods, much of the produce grown organically, alongside artisan cheeses, jams, and jellies.

The market runs on Tuesday afternoons year-round. Whether you’re a regular stocking up or a visitor passing through, it offers a genuine taste of Chatham County’s deep local-food culture and the people behind it.

FEATURES

Year-round producer-only farmers market. Rain or shine. Some vendors accept checks, as well as debit and credit cards, but we recommend bringing cash just in case.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Daylight Saving Time (Mar-Nov): Tuesdays, 4pm-6pm.
Standard Time (Dec-Feb): Tuesdays, 3pm-5pm.

PARKING

Parking is free and easy. Fearrington Village is free and open to the public, with businesses nestled around a village green and ample parking on-site; the market is a short walk from the parking areas around the Village Center.

ACCESSIBILITY

At the village level, many buildings and pathways are accessible, and Fearrington invites visitors to contact them directly for assistance. Scenic paths connect the pastures, gardens, and Village Center, and free parking is available nearby around the village green.

PETS

Leashed, well-behaved pets are welcome at the Fearrington Farmers’ Market. In fact, the market is notably dog-friendly—many vendors bring their own dogs, and you’ll even find vendors selling organic dog treats.

Visitors planning to continue into Fearrington Village’s shops or restaurants afterward should note the distinction: leashed pets are welcome in the village’s outdoor areas, but only service animals may enter dining areas or shops. Service animals are, of course, always permitted under ADA regulations.
