The Plant is a diverse 17-acre eco-industrial park on the east side of Pittsboro. It is home to nearly two dozen like-minded small businesses focused on entrepreneurship, sustainability, and supporting Chatham’s local economy.
WHAT TO DO
The Plant has turned local commerce into an experience, offering an art gallery, axe throwing, hemp tours, walking trails, unique craft beverage experiences, farm-to-fork eateries, many outdoor spaces for gatherings and events, and so much more!
Discover the Chatham Beverage District, home to Fair Game Beverage Company, Chatham Cider Works, bmc brewing, Starrlight Mead, and Koshu Sake. You can also opt for hemp-derived beverages from Oak City Hemp or a great cup of local Vortex Roasters coffee from Metal Brixx Cafe. The Plant is also part of the Chatham County Craft Beverages & Country Inns Trail. Easily plan your visit with our Wander Maps itinerary.
Visit Kingston 99 Kitchen for an authentic Caribbean dining experience or JDub’s PoBoys for a taste of New Orleans. Activities include Chatham Axes, Carolina Hemp Tours, exploring Smelt Art Gallery, a Petanque court and giant chess board, a playground, birding, and weekly tours every Sun at 1pm. Shop from Hempsmith Clothing Company, Rachel’s Native Plants, Oak City Hemp, and Essence 4 You Candles. Guests are welcome to explore the Tree Museum (Grand Opening happening soon!) at their own pace.
