• Travel is a job creator, economic engine, educator, pro-family and pro-health.
• Travel is one of America’s largest industries.
• The 2018 report* showed that travel and tourism in Chatham County directly employed more than 190 people and generated payroll of $4.74 million, which puts more dollars into local businesses.
• The report also measures the positive impact of tourism on taxes. In 2018, visitor-related business in Chatham County generated approximately $680,000 in local sales tax and property tax revenues. This is an estimated tax savings of $36.51 per county resident.
