Travel is a job creator, economic engine, educator, pro-family and pro-health.
• Travel is one of America’s largest industries.
• The 2020 report* showed that travel and tourism in Chatham County directly employed more than 514 people.
• The report also measures the positive impact of tourism on taxes. In 2020, visitor-related business in Chatham County generated approximately $48.1 million in revenue and $2.3 million in local sales tax and property tax revenues. This is an estimated tax savings of $60.01 per county resident.
