The Local Palate is looking forward to hosting its first in-person Cookbook Club at Fearrington Village, Behind The Recipes, on Fri, Aug 22, 11:30am-2pm. In conversation with chef Melissa M. Martin and food historian Von Diaz, this event will celebrate the flavors of the South from North Carolina to New Orleans. You can look forward to:

• A VIP Meet-and-Greet from 11:30am-12pm, extending an exclusive opportunity to connect one-on-one with authors Melissa M. Martin and Von Diaz before the afternoon’s festivities begin. Please note that a limited number of tickets are available for this special prelude to “Pages to Plates”. Melissa M. Martin is the chef of the New Orleans restaurant Mosquito Supper Club and author of “Bayou: Feasting Through the Seasons of a Cajun Life.”

Von Diaz is a food historian and author of “Islas: A Celebration of Tropical Cooking.”
