The entrepreneurial spirit shines brightly in Chatham County’s tourism and hospitality industry. Many of our businesses are family-owned and operated, each boasting distinct amenities and a unique story.
Over the last 20 years, weddings and meetings have become a significant draw for guests, brides, event coordinators, and other professionals involved in event planning. Visitors appreciate Chatham County’s charm and rural character, while retaining convenient access to North Carolina’s wider Triangle region, the Triad, and the greater Charlotte area.
This past June, Splendour Estate became the latest independently owned business to join our growing collection of stunning, rustic-elegant venues.
The Journey to Splendour’s Big Day
Splendour Estate owners Samreen Nawaz and her husband, Syed Yousuf, are no strangers to North Carolina’s hospitality industry. Since 2015, the couple has owned and operated Kababish Café—a popular restaurant and catering service sharing authentic Pakistani and Indian flavors with Cary, North Carolina.
Kababish quickly became a local favorite, boasting healthy, custom-made dishes, pet-friendly patio dining, and flexible accommodations for dietary restrictions. It was a rewarding experience, but by 2020, Nawaz and Yousuf were ready to explore a less physically taxing venture. With the arrival of COVID-19, their desire to diversify revenue streams became a strategic necessity.
Opening a venue was a natural extension of the couple’s experience in customer service and hospitality. They purchased the rural Siler City property in October 2020 and, over the next five years, worked diligently to bring their vision to life. Finally, in June 2025, joined by friends, family, and industry partners, Samreen Nawaz and Syed Yousuf held the official grand opening of Splendour Estate.
The event began with a blessing from the Imam in Urdu, Hindi, and English, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Chatham County Chamber of Commerce. Afterwards, guests explored the property at their leisure while savoring a delicious spread catered by the family’s restaurant: Mango Lassi, fresh-squeezed lemonade, Onion Pakora, Hummus, Naan, Chicken 65, and a selection of flavorful sauces and chutneys.
Here’s What You Can Expect
