One turn into the driveway at Lucky Bar Farm in Moncure evokes the feeling of being free and officially on vacation. A wonderful abundance of farm features greet guests before meeting hosts, Nancy and Steve Adams, including the horses roaming on the spacious land, an inviting porch, and a small culinary garden.
Enter the home and your hosts will happily welcome you as they would longtime friends. Lucky Bar Farm is a new bed & breakfast, with all the special inn amenities one expects, plus some one would find in a hotel. The home has a lot of light, both in the sun room and with cozy window seats in the individual guest rooms. Play darts or work out in their gym, spend time walking on the farm, or just sleep in and enjoy the comfort of the guest rooms, each with a special theme. The special hand-painted plate signed by all the guests at Nancy and Steve’s wedding is proudly displayed in one of the rooms and they’re looking forward to hosting guests, and even horses, with their special Bed and Bale package.
Steve enjoys creating gourmet meals, breakfast and/or dinner with wine, and the dining is a very special part of the experience. He’s also knowledgeable about wines and foodies will enjoy their stay. Meals are seasonal, with herbs from their own garden. Stay and indulge in quiche (vegetarian option available); blueberry muffins; traditional country breakfast of eggs, ham, redeye gravy; homemade chocolate chip scones; and more. Nancy’s summertime homemade ice cream is a treat.
