“Spirits of Pittsboro’s Past” Walking Tour

Announcing the 2nd Annual “Spirits of Pittsboro’s Past Walking Tour Sat, Oct 5 and Sat, Oct 19, 5:30pm-7:30pm. What spirits lurk in downtown Pittsboro? Experience a supernatural historical walk tour. In the spirit of Halloween, participants will learn local folklore while searching for ghostly spirits from the town’s past. Walk in the footsteps of those who came before and see the town, its buildings, and its sites in a new way.
This one-mile, leisurely tour through downtown Pittsboro visits several historical sites, including the Masonic Lodge, St. Bart’s Church and cemetery, and more. Participants will assemble at the Chatham County Courthouse and Historical Museum at 5:30pm. The tour takes about two hours. Content will be appropriate for participants 12 and older. The tour will be held if rain is expected but rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.
A total of 60 tickets per Saturday tour will be sold. Participants will be divided into three small groups for each date, offering groups the same experience. Tickets are $25 for Chatham County Historical Association members and $30 for nonmembers. Members may order guest tickets at the member price. Please note that you must log in to your member profile for the member price. Tickets are available to members only Thu, Aug 15-Sat, Aug 31. If tickets remain after that date, public (nonmember) ticket sales will begin Sun, Sep 1. Tickets are only available online. Online payment by credit card is required to register on this site.
