The workshop occurs Tue, Sep 23, 2pm-5pm in the Cooperative Extension wing of the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center. Free parking is available at the venue. The cost of the workshop is $25 per person and includes the cost of a FAMACHA card. Accommodation requests related to a disability can be made to Dalton Suits at 919.542.8242 or [email protected].
WHAT IS FAMACHA©
FAMACHA© is a diagnostic test that helps small ruminant producers identify animals that require anthelmintic treatment and those that do not require deworming. The tool is a card that matches lower eyelid color to anemia levels, an indicator of clinical barber pole worm infection. Individuals must be certified to purchase the FAMACHA card, which is used for the test.
