Set your inner fashionista free! Join Checkered Tulip for a Design Your Own Handbag workshop on Sat, Jan 31, 9:30am-3pm. In this experienced beginner-level class, you will design, cut, and sew a casual classic hobo-style handbag. Skills taught in this workshop include:

• Reading a pattern.
• Apply two different types of zippers.
• Box corners.
• Interfacing applications.

And more! This bag has a top Zipper and an interior welted zip pocket. There are two size options – big (16in  x 15in  x 6in) and huge (21in  x 16in  x 8in)! This 5.5-hour session is $85 per person. You’ll need to bring the following materials:

• 1/2 yard of decorator fabric for the exterior.
• 1/2 yard of quilting cotton fabric for the lining.
• 1/4 yard of lightweight faux leather, denim, twill, or canvas.
• A 14″ #5 zipper for closure and a 10″ all-purpose zipper for the lining.
• Matching thread.
