2026 Annual Spring Cleanup at Jordan Lake

March 14 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm

Join Clean Up Jordan Lake for their 2026 Annual Spring Cleanup on Sat, Mar 14, 8:30am-12pm. Clean Jordan Lake is joining a group of local organizations hosting cleanup events as part of Creek Week activities, including the Chatham County, Orange County, and Keep Durham Beautiful. Assignments include:

  • Walkers: You will be divided into groups at registration.
  • Boaters: Boaters are needed to ferry some volunteers to their cleanup track and back, and also to help haul trash back to the dumpster at the Corps Bulkhead. Boaters who wish to ferry volunteers only are welcome. They will loan 2-way radios to boaters for communication.
  • Kayakers: Come to the registration table at 8:45am to receive assignments from CJL leaders.

This year, they continue their tradition of offering a Trash Treasure Hunt. Items marked by “CJL TTH” are shown to the track captain, who will issue a CJL business card redeemable for a merchandise prize at the registration table. Coffee and pastries will be available during registration.

All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and work gloves (provided or bring your own). They strongly recommend long pants, a long-sleeve shirt, and a hat. Shoreline Track Captains will be present to guide volunteers. Volunteers will be provided with bags, trash grabbers, first-aid kits, water, and gloves, if needed.
