Join The Plant and Fair Game Beverage Company in Pittsboro’s new listening room for The Wheelhouse Presents The Royal Treatment: A Jester’s Court of Fun on Sat, Jul 11, 2pm-4pm. Interactive to the max, Sammy Sylvester—the greatest of jesters—brings a unique mix of theater, circus arts, and music where YOU are a part of the show. Enjoy dazzling displays of juggling, beguiling brainteasers, the best (i.e., worst) Dad jokes, and a menagerie of hands-on games woven into delightful chaos.

You’re not just a spectator: you’re part of the magic. Top-tier tomfoolery, hijinks, and shenanigans are guaranteed on this audience-powered adventure. You’re not just a part of the show: you’re the heart of it. Dress to the nines or come in a T-shirt and jeans—all (PG-13) styles are welcome! Medieval/Fantasy attire is encouraged but not required. Comicon-esque royalty/fantasy (think: Princess Peach, Zelda, Link) cosplays are also invited. Recommended for ages 5-99. 

Come early to sip and shop the Chatham Beverage District, part of the Chatham County Craft Beverages & Country Inns Trail, with local beers from bmc brewing, wines and ciders from Starrlight, spirits from Fair Game, and sake from Koshu. Local dining available at Kingston 99 Kitchen and Ta Contento.

Get your tickets before they sell out! The admission cost is $25 for earlybird tickets (by Mon, Jun 15) and $30 for general admission. Free parking is available onsite. The event takes place indoors in the Fair Game Wheelhouse. Leashed, well-behaved pets are allowed outside; indoor pet policies vary by business. ABOUT THE ARTIST

Teaching artist Erim Akpan is a writer, storyteller, and jester based in North Carolina. A prolific writer, Erim has amassed over 40 publications and currently serves as a staff writer for Chatham Life and Style Magazine. As a storyteller, Erim invites audiences to travel through time, living the stories of unsung trailblazers and traveling the world through the legends of cultures around the globe. Her performances have been seen live and virtually by tens of thousands of people across the United States and the United Kingdom. As a jester, she enjoys creating safe spaces where others can share ideas, tap into their inner genius, and collaborate as they engage in the creative process.
