Lifelong Gardening: Making Gardens More Accessible

Join Chatham County Cooperative Extension and the NC State Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Chatham County for Lifelong Gardening: Making Gardens More Accessible on Thu, Apr 16, 9am-12pm at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center. This workshop is designed to educate the public about ideas, tools, and techniques to help make the joys and benefits of gardening more accessible as they age. The Lifelong Gardening Workshop will focus on three main areas:

  • Modifications to the garden: Alternative garden layouts, plant selections, and container choices.
  • Preparation of the gardener: Garden session plans, warming up, and proper tool use techniques
  • Tool selection: Choosing proper tools and adaptive options.

This event is held indoors and costs $15 per person. More information about this event can be found here. Free parking is available onsite.
