Join the Chatham County Historical Association for Everything You Should Have Learned in High School About the Declaration of Independence on Sun, Sep 7, 2pm-3:30pm at the Chatham County Historic Courthouse and Museum. Led by Courtney Smith, this talk will teach you everything you should have learned about the Declaration of Independence, but probably didn’t. What you don’t know may surprise you! Engaging and enlightening, this program examines the theories and context behind this historic document and translates it into “plain language” that anyone can understand.
All are welcome to attend this free event. This event takes place indoors. The historic courthouse meets federal ADA requirements. No pets allowed. Please leave your furry friends at home. Free parking is available behind
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Courtney Smith is an Exhibits and Programs Coordinator for the Orange County Historical Museum. She has a Master’s Degree in Teaching History from UVA and has lectured widely on this foundational document.
