THE STORY
Born in 1930, Willmeta “Willy” Jacomet learned to bake at a young age. When she was six years old, she would help her mom bake loaves of bread to sell to locals during the Great Depression. She consistently tried to help those who were less fortunate throughout her life, even though she had little herself. Baking was a joy for Willy, and she was well known for her cinnamon rolls as well as bread and other baked goods. She used fresh, local farm products in her recipes: freshly ground flour, eggs from her chickens, and milk from the farm’s cows. She believed in farm-to-table before our generation had a name for it!
