Small B&B Cafe is a seasonal yet affordable restaurant serving up breakfast, brunch, and lunch favorites from a lovingly restored historic property in downtown Pittsboro. Dine inside or on the patio for hospitable service and a taste of local food (and eclectic art)! They are committed to sustainability, environmental responsibility, and supporting local businesses:
- 100% of their food waste and your plate leftovers go to help feed the Howerton Farm livestock, including their adorable little piggies!
- Nearly 60% of the food that goes into a meal at Small Cafe comes from local farmers and suppliers.
- There are plenty of vegetarian items for diners looking to take it easy on our animal friends.
Plus – spot hundreds of creative folk art pieces inside and outdoors on the patio and lawn! There is a wheelchair-accessible entrance, including a ramp, as well as accessible seating available inside and parking outside. Free parking is available on the street and in the small gravel lot beside the restaurants. Leashed pets are welcome on the patio.

Small B&B offers three quirky and unexpected rooms for a comfortable stay:
- The Guest Cottage: The largest and most convenient property for families and extended stays. Ideal for remote workers and those considering relocating to the area. The cottage is wheelchair accessible.
- The Tree House and The Woodshed: Two charming and wistful tiny home-esque units. Refurbished container buildings, designed by an architect and professor at UNC Charlotte, were originally built to house a traveling art exhibit.
Your stay includes a delicious breakfast at Small Café.

THE GUEST COTTAGE

- King-sized bed in a private room, plus a queen-sized Murphy bed located in the common area.
- Kitchenette with a hotplate, microwave, toaster oven, minifridge, Wi-Fi, and a smart TV.
- Patio with vintage lawn furniture (seats 4) and a coffee table.
THE TREE HOUSE
- 8’x8′ room with tall, airy ceilings.
- Full-size bed and private bathroom.
- Micromini fridge (holds the equivalent of six 12-oz cans).
- Coffeemaker with pods, Wi-Fi, and a smart TV with streaming capabilities.
- Deck access with seating for two overlooks the garden with outsider folk art scattered throughout.
- Please note: due to the size of the unit, only pets 20 lbs and under are allowed.
THE WOODSHED
- Queen-sized bed and private bathroom.
- Micromini fridge (holds the equivalent of six 12-oz cans).
- Coffeemaker with pods, Wi-Fi, and a smart TV with streaming capabilities.
- Deck access with seating for two overlooks the garden with outsider folk art scattered throughout.
PETS
Pets are welcome outside for diners and in rooms for overnight guests, for a fee (pet fee varies depending on the unit). Pets must be on a leash at all times when they are not in the room. Owners must pick up after their pets when they’re on the premises, and Small has provided an outdoor pet station to make disposal convenient. Please note: they prefer not to have pets left unattended in their rooms. Due to the size of The Tree House unit, only pets 20 lbs and under are allowed.
