Chatham Transit

DESCRIPTION

Visitors are welcome to use Chatham Transit. Please note that routes are pre-planned and scheduled to accommodate residents requiring transportation. Service is available from 8am-5pm each weekday. Chatham Transit operates two fixed routes – the PX Route and the 64 Route – that provide regular weekday service between Siler City, Pittsboro, and Chapel Hill. Children ages 8 and younger or weighing less than 80 pounds must be secured in a car seat by a guardian (Chatham Transit does not provide car seats).

Chatham Transit also operates the In-County Service, a reservation service that provides curb-to-curb rides to and from any location in Chatham County. Passengers should be ready at least one (1) hour before pick-up time. Passengers with disabilities will be allowed adequate time to board and disembark. The driver will wait three (3) minutes for a passenger to appear and then continue the route. Service is available from 4am-6pm each day. Requests for transportation must be made at least 48 hours in advance before the trip. Requests for Monday must be received the previous Thursday by noon and for Tuesday the previous Friday by noon. You can call or fill out this Transportation Request Form. More Information.

EVENT SERVICES

If you want to hire Chatham Transit to provide transportation for other events, such as after-school programs, private events, outings, etc., they offer transportation services that can accommodate those requests on a contractual basis.
