Wine Education 101 – Mendoza, Argentina
April 23 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Vino!’s next Wine Education 101 Seminar: Mendoza, Argentina on Wed, Apr 23, 6pm-7pm is all about this fantastic wine region, featuring Level II Sommelier Dom DeCastro. In this seminar, sip and learn about the different varietals typical of Mendoza, as well as sub-regions within Mendoza, in a dynamic and fun environment! Mendoza, located in the foothills of the Andes, is Argentina’s most important wine region. Known for Malbec (85% of the plantings), this region accounts for nearly 2/3 of the wine production in Argentina. It has a dry and sunny climate due to the rain shadow cast by the Andes mountains, which is why it is perfect for grape cultivation. The three main sub-regions are Lujan de Cuyo, Maipu Valley, and Uco Valley. Mendoza is the proud home of a vast array of wineries, some of which are world-renowned and considered among the best in the world.
