At Sewing on Paper/Paper Piecing on Sat, Feb 7, 1pm-4pm, you’ll learn the basics of foundation paper piecing, AKA sewing on paper. You will make a cute Valentine’s “Mug Rug” design. A Mug Rug is a small, mini-quilt project that serves as a cross between a coaster and a placemat, designed to hold a mug and/or a small snack.

Participants should have basic sewing-machine operating skills. Supplies are included. This one-class session is instructed by Bea Lee. Registration opens Mon, Dec 29, 2025, and closes Mon, Feb 2, 2026. This event is held indoors at the new Chatham County Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources (CCPRCR) Arts Center, located at 964 East Street, Suite 105, Pittsboro, NC 23712, on the backside of the building. To access the studio, drive straight through the open gate and look for the sign that reads “Arts Center.” Visual Arts participants may park in the back lot.
