Intermediate Home Mead Making – Traditionals: Honey and Yeast
March 1 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
In Intermediate Home Mead Making – Traditionals: Honey and Yeast, you’ll learn about making a good traditional mead. It’s more complicated than many people think to create an environment that will keep yeast happy. You’ll start with honey and how the different flavors of varietal honeys can impact the flavor of the mead. Participants will be tasting honeys, varietal traditional meads, and a yeast experiment to see how the decision of ingredients can impact the finished mead. They’ll also cover yeast nutrients to keep the little “yeasty beasties” happy!
This class is $50 per person and $75 for groups of two. All class participants must be over 21! No exceptions. Register by Tue, Feb 25 to participate. This event occurs Sat, Mar 1, 10am-1pm at Starrlight Mead. Starlight Mead is part of The Plant. See all events at The Plant. Part of the Chatham County Craft Beverages & Country Inns Trail.
