Home School Middle School Program at CTR
March 24 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Carolina Tiger Rescue is excited to offer its new Home School Middle School Program, hosted every Tuesday, Mar 3-24, 9am-12pm. This program gives students a glimpse into what it takes to care for the animals at Carolina Tiger Rescue across 4 areas. Students will spend a morning on each of the following topics:
- Animal Behavior: What is it, and how can understanding it help us better care for animals?
- Enclosure Design and Enrichment: What requirements have to be met to house large and small carnivores? What does it take to keep our animals physically and mentally healthy?
- Vet Care: What happens when an animal gets sick? How do we care for aging animals? What challenges does our animal care staff face with our animals in terms of health?
- Problems in the Wild: What problems do the wild cousins of our residents face? What can we do to help?
This fast-paced, STEM-centered program is sure to keep your student engaged while learning about unique challenges that arise when caring for large and small wild cats! The cost is $150 plus tax for the program, and includes a mid-morning snack. Students in grades 6th-8th are welcome to attend. See more Carolina Tiger Rescue events.
