Fall for Literacy Luncheon

October 30 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join Chatham Literacy for their Fall for Literacy Luncheon on Thu, Oct 30, 11am-2pm at the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center (CCACC). National columnist, award-winning journalist, popular TED Talk speaker, and author Steven Petrow, with conversation partner Jill McCorkle, will discuss his uplifting book, The Joy You Make. Petrow’s book discusses and defines what joy is, including places and experiences where it can be found. “Joy is not only around us, but within us. It inhabits the present, the past, and even the future as we look toward it. We often don’t recognize joy because it’s no one-note wonder.”

Petrow’s conversation partner for this event will be author Jill McCorkle, who spoke about her acclaimed short story collection Old Crimes at Chatham Literacy’s 2024 Fall for Literacy Luncheon. During the luncheon, Petrow, the 2024 North Carolina Piedmont Laureate, will also discuss his advocacy for literacy.

Lunch begins at 12pm. Tickets are $125.00; tables seat 10 people.
