The Annual Chatham YMCA Leprechaun Dash 5K/10K is a fun and challenging course. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Chatham County during this event on Sat, Mar 15, 8:30am-11:30am. Whether you’re tuning up for a spring half-marathon or the Tobacco Road Marathon, participation is a great way to help the children of Chatham County. Prizes will be awarded for age groups and costumes – don’t forget to wear green! Following the race, enjoy the day in Chatham County, exploring our attractions, restaurants, and breweries.

EVENT DETAILS

Beginning at the ALL NEW Chatham YMCA (120 Parkland Drive, Pittsboro), you’ll race through Chatham Park. Runners will follow greenways, sidewalks, and shoulders. The 5K and 10K will share the course with 5K runners, turning around a bit sooner. Walkers are welcome. Pets are not allowed on the race course. Baby strollers/joggers are permitted, but for the safety of all participants, please start at the back behind the runners and walkers.

Race day parking will be available at the Chatham YMCA. Event organizers request participants to carpool, if possible. Overflow parking is available in Pittsboro’s public lots – please do not park in shopping center lots. Race fees include your Hipster Leprechaun T-shirt and support for a great cause. All funds raised support children in Chatham County through the YMCA Annual Campaign, which provides financial assistance for wrap-around care. Each year, they also provide $100,000 in scholarships for childcare and youth-oriented programs that encourage building people through outdoor activities, sports, and leadership development.
