For over 35 years, McIntyre’s Books in Fearrington Village has been a community staple in Chatham County, offering a wide selection of fiction and non-fiction, with an emphasis on children’s books, cooking, gardening, travel, and a terrific mystery section. Special attention is given to regional authors in a collection designed to please any bibliophile or gift-giver.
The locally owned indie bookstore hosts nearly 150 author events annually, many free, along with ticketed book-release luncheons, monthly poetry readings, weekly storytelling with Johanna Banana, and its annual Crime Scene Mystery Bookfest.
