Inn at Celebrity Dairy

DESCRIPTION

The Inn at Celebrity Dairy is a unique bed and breakfast, in part because of the goats in residence. The buildings date to the 1820s and have eight guest rooms, including one two-room suite. Hosts Brit and Fleming Pfann are proud of their Modern Greek Revival farmhouse and original settler’s log cabin. They use traditional French farmstead methods to transform milk into quality chevre, which is sold locally to markets, stores, and restaurants. Guests are welcome to learn the art of milking goats. Sunset is lovely from the upstairs porch of the Inn. The Inn is fully air-conditioned for summer, and in cool weather, take in the warmth of the fire burning in the fireplace.

Breakfast is always the important meal of the day, with a farm-to-fork spread featuring omelets or frittatas, fresh-baked breads or muffins, goat cheese, and homemade preserves. Following breakfast, enjoy an invigorating hike through the sprawling 320 acres of mixed hardwood forests full of birds and wildlife. The Inn at Celebrity Dairy is family-friendly and regularly hosts third-Sunday dinners, open barn events, and tours.

THIRD SUNDAY DINNERS

Celebrity Dairy hosts dinners on the third Sunday afternoon of each month. Dinner menus change with the seasons and always include award-winning Celebrity Dairy Goat cheese. Hosts Brit and Fleming Pfann lovingly prepare dinner with the same care and creativity that goes into the production of their cheese. Guests arrive at 1:30pm for a bit of socializing over appetizers and goat cheese. Either Brit or Fleming will give a brief welcome and the “cheese chat” at 2pm. The conversation covers things they have discovered in their years of cheesemaking. Guests then seat themselves at a long, common large table for the four or five-course meal. After the main course, participants are invited to tour the barn and cheese room, relax a bit, or wander about the inn. Later, enjoy dessert and coffee or tea. They love to have guests linger as long as schedules permit. Bring your preferred wine or beer, if you wish. Vegetarian entrees are available upon request, and recipes are available for the day’s menu.
