SUMMARY:Drawing with Charcoal - Drapery Study Workshop
DESCRIPTION:During Drawing with Charcoal – Drapery Study Workshop\, you will learn how to draw basic folded shapes from life using a charcoal reductive drawing method. Charcoal reductive drawing is a method by which a paper is toned with a layer of charcoal over which the drawing is completed by adding more charcoal for the darks and erasing for the lights\, making the process feel very sculptural. Instructor Emily Anderson will guide you through this one-session class on Sat\, Feb 22\, 10am-2pm. Prepare to get messy with charcoal! A lunch break is included\, and all supplies are provided. \nThe Arts Center is located at 964 East Street\, Pittsboro\, NC 27312\, on the backside of the building. To access the studio\, drive straight through the open gate and look for the sign on the door that reads “Arts Center.” Registration opens Mon\, Jan 13\, and closes Mon\, Feb 17. This event is held indoors by Chatham County Parks\, Recreation\, and Cultural Resources (CCPRCR). SUMMARY:Paint From The Heart
DESCRIPTION:Express your vision with Paint from the Heart. Whatever opens the gate to your creativity and moves it forward is encouraged. Art is a process; it is often called “a journey without an end”. You will focus on creating paintings that reflect confidence while pushing boundaries and exploring new pathways for poetic expression in oil and acrylic. The aim is to use the workshop to try new approaches: exaggerated color\, energetic brushstrokes\, palette knife\, working big and small\, etc. It’s about challenging yourself to leave the comfort of familiar methods and embrace discovery as you let intuition guide your artistic choices with your photographic images. To guide student efforts\, attention to composition\, values\, color harmony\, simplifying\, and use of grays will be reinforced\, as well as discussion of materials\, supports\, brushes\, and mediums. Oil and acrylic painters of all skill levels are welcome to this workshop. The class size is limited to 12 people so that each student can receive individual attention throughout the workshop.
