SUMMARY:Create Your Own Artisan Sterling Silver Earrings
DESCRIPTION:In Create Your Own Artisan Sterling Silver Earrings on Sun\, May 18\, 1pm-5pm\, you’ll learn metal smithing techniques and use hand tools to design and create three pairs of unique sterling silver earrings (two from sterling silver wire and one using sterling silver sheet). Hammers\, stamps\, and other tools will be used to texture the surfaces and bend and shape the earrings. You will also learn how to make ear wires and jump rings. \nAges 15+ are welcome. No experience is necessary. There are five open seats for this class\, and the price is $150 per person. The classroom is located in the back of the Pittsboro Gallery of Arts in downtown Pittsboro. Parking is free on the street and in the back of the building. The instructor\, Pam Freese\, will provide all materials\, equipment\, and bottled water. Contact PGA for accessibility information. \nABOUT THE AUTHOR \n\n\n\n\n\nGary Phillips is the 2016-2017 poet laureate of Carrboro\, North Carolina. He is a writer\, naturalist\, and entrepreneur. Gary has a special interest and expertise in conservation easements and other land-protective strategies. He co-founded Weaver Street Realty over thirty years ago and is still active in the business. He lives in a rammed-earth house with his wife\, Ilana Dubester\, in Silk Hope\, North Carolina. Gary avidly reads poetry and anthropological science fiction\, studies amphibian activities on full moon nights\, and was once chair of the Chatham County Board of Commissioners.
