Mays Pottery

DESCRIPTION

They have been making hand thrown pottery, dinnerware, and one-of-a-kind art pottery for over 25 years. Their work is set apart from other artists by its exceptional craftsmanship and brilliant colors. Martha and Nathan, a mother-and-son team, come from a rich pottery heritage.

Their studio and gallery are located on the banks of the Haw River near Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

All pottery made at the Mays Pottery is hand thrown, no other methods are used. Traditional techniques and ancient Japanese bamboo brushwork trademark our work. The porcelain is crafted by the duo in a maze of detailed production processes that yield the most beautiful and functional porcelain attainable.
