Pittsboro book artist Josh Hockensmith of Blue Bluer Books will walk you through the basics of bookbinding with demonstrations and activities. This workshop is perfect for beginners – but even if you took their previous workshop\, you will learn a new\, elegant style of binding this time! You’ll warm up by making sewn pamphlets and then move on to the more sophisticated Japanese-style stab binding. \nThis class is $45 per person and $30 for each additional member of your party. On the tour\, you will learn about CTR’s wonderful animals and how enrichment enhances their lives. Watch the animals play with and destroy holiday-themed enrichment\, then indulge in some edible holiday enrichment of your own! \nThe upcoming schedule for Holiday Enrichment Tours is below: \n\nSat\, Jun 20\, 2pm-4pm – Father’s Day Weekend.\nSun\, Jun 21\, 2pm-4pm – Father’s Day Weekend.\nFri\, Jul 3\, 2pm-4pm – Fourth of July Weekend.\nSat\, Jul 4\, 2pm-4pm – Fourth of July Weekend.\n\nAdvance tickets are required for all attendees (no walk-ins). Tours last around 1.5-2 hours and are offered on select holiday weekends throughout the year\, rain or shine. The cost is $32 for individuals aged 13 and above\, and $26 for those aged 0-12\, with a maximum of 25 people allowed per tour. Tickets are available 8 weeks before your visit. \nSee more events at Carolina Tiger Rescue. \n BEFORE YOU VISIT \nThere are several things CTR would like you to know before booking your tour. Please review the information below before purchasing your tickets: \n\nIf a minor child is not accompanied by their parent\, the parent must complete a Combined Minor Release Form and bring it in at the time of your tour.\nAll tours go out rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather\, Carolina Tiger Rescue will contact guests to inform them if a cancellation is necessary.\nPhotos may be taken during your tour after you’ve signed your visitor release.\nThe Education Center is wheelchair-accessible; however\, the gravel and grass paths may be more challenging for those with limited mobility. Golf carts are available to assist guests who need them. SUMMARY:Cool Creek Farm Summer Camps
DESCRIPTION:Join Cool Creek Farm for Summer Camps\, hosted during select weeks in June\, July\, and August 2026. Camp days follow an easy flow that starts with a morning circle and conversation\, and reading aloud of quality children’s literature. The bulk of the day is spent with campers choosing their own activities and using their imaginations. Campers can snack whenever they like\, but lunch is eaten together\, sometimes as a picnic under the Bald Cypress or giant Ash tree\, and then they read some more! Camp weeks are enhanced by a special visitor every Wednesday morning. A structured activity or form of entertainment is shared with the whole group. Seasonal free-play options throughout the day include: \n\nSports\, games\, and play structures.\nCrafts.\nCreek and sand play.\nVisiting with the goats and collecting eggs.\nFort building and tree climbing.\nSlip-n-sliding with a break for homemade popsicles.\nTrail walks and campfires.\n\nCamps occur on a 26-acre farm in Pittsboro\, NC\, run by Camp Director Melissa Frey and her adult daughter\, Marinne. Melissa provides structure\, safety\, and supplies to help campers accomplish their ideas for the day. Melissa is passionate about the benefits of significant free-play time for all ages\, away from electronics. Seasonal free-play options throughout the day include: \n\nSports\, games\, and play structures.\nCrafts.\nCreek and sand play.\nVisiting with the goats and collecting eggs.\nFort building and tree climbing.\nSlip-n-sliding with a break for homemade popsicles.\nTrail walks and campfires.\n\nCamps occur on a 26-acre farm in Pittsboro\, NC\, run by Camp Director Melissa Frey and her adult daughter\, Marinne. Melissa provides structure\, safety\, and supplies to help campers accomplish their ideas for the day. The bulk of the day is spent with campers choosing their own activities and using their imaginations. Campers can snack whenever they like\, but lunch is eaten together\, sometimes as a picnic under the Bald Cypress or giant Ash tree\, and then they read some more! Camp weeks are enhanced by a special visitor every Wednesday morning. A structured activity or form of entertainment is shared with the whole group. Seasonal free-play options throughout the day include: \n\nSports\, games\, and play structures.\nCrafts.\nCreek and sand play.\nVisiting with the goats and collecting eggs.\nFort building and tree climbing.\nSlip-n-sliding with a break for homemade popsicles.\nTrail walks and campfires.\n\nCamps occur on a 26-acre farm in Pittsboro\, NC\, run by Camp Director Melissa Frey and her adult daughter\, Marinne. Melissa provides structure\, safety\, and supplies to help campers accomplish their ideas for the day. Melissa is passionate about the benefits of significant free-play time for all ages\, away from electronics. She is thrilled to share her farm and watch the kids find their way and feel joy in this setting. \nCAMP DATES & DETAILS \nCamp is held during the following weeks: \n\nMon\, Jun 15-Thu\, Jun 18\, 8:30am-2pm.\nMon\, Jun 22-Thu\, Jun 25\, 8:30am-2pm.\nMon\, Jun 29-Thu\, Jul 2\, 8:30am-2pm.\nMon\, Jul 13-Thu\, Jul 16\, 8:30am-2pm.\nMon\, Jul 20-Thu\, Jul 23\, 8:30am-2pm.\nMon\, Jul 27-Thu\, Jul 30\, 8:30am-2pm.\nMon\, Aug 10-Thu\, Aug 13\, 8:30am-2pm.\nMon\, Aug 17-Thu\, Aug 20\, 8:30am-2pm.\n\nEach week is limited to 8-16 campers\, ages 6-9 (rising 1st-4th graders)\, with an adult-to-camper ratio of 1:8 or better. After all masterpieces are created\, you’ll head out into the sanctuary for an opportunity to see some of CTR’s most iconic resident animals up close. In the event of extreme weather\, Carolina Tiger Rescue will contact guests to inform them if a cancellation is necessary.\nPhotos may be taken during your tour after you’ve signed your visitor release.\nThe Education Center is wheelchair-accessible; however\, the gravel and grass paths may be more challenging to navigate for individuals with mobility impairments. Golf carts are available to assist guests as needed. If you have accessibility concerns\, please call 919.542.4648 to make arrangements before your visit.\nGPS may not provide accurate directions to CTR’s location.
