DESCRIPTION:Join Frog Hollow Outdoors for Jordan Lake Bald Eagle Paddles along the northern reaches of Jordan Lake in search of its majestic residents. Jordan Lake State Recreation Area is considered one of the largest summertime nesting areas for Bald Eagles in the southeastern US. While they cannot guarantee a bald eagle sighting\, they can say that over the last handful of years\, they have spotted between 8 and 35 eagles on every trip that has run\, along with numerous other amazing raptors and lake residents. \nSCHEDULE \n\nSat\, Apr 26\, 8:30am-1:30pm. \nSun\, Jun 22\, 8:30am-1:30pm.\n\nAges 8 and up are welcome. Pricing can be found on the website. Trips take off from the Farrington Point Boat Ramp. \nKNOW BEFORE YOU GO \n\nAll guests will be provided with a kayak\, a personal flotation device (life vest)\, and a paddle. The recommended packing list can be found here. Guests will need to provide their own lunches. \nIntermediate skills are recommended; the trip distance can be up to 8 miles. They DO NOT recommend this trip to be someone’s first paddling experience. This trip is not appropriate for children under 13.\nAdvanced online registration is required. Trips may be cancelled if the minimum group size of 4 is not met. Please note that environmental factors may impact the planned curriculum for the day. Gratuity for guides/instructors is always appreciated. \nEstimating the time spent on water for river trips can be a challenging task. Numerous variables can affect the duration of a trip. A few considerations for this are water level and flow\, group experience\, managing a capsized canoe or kayak\, and other relevant factors. Guests may be asked to assist with the shuttle. Shorter distance trips can take 3–5 hours\, longer distance trips can take 4–7 hours.\nParticipants during winter months must wear cold-weather paddling gear appropriate for the air and water temperatures. Frog Hollow may be able to provide cold-weather paddle clothing to those who request it.

Enrollment space is limited to 8 youth and will be processed on a first-come-first-serve basis. \nThis camp takes place at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center. Please note: No arrivals will be accepted before 9:20am. Campers must be dropped off and picked up on time – a fee will be assessed for late pick-ups. The cost is $75 per person. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available – please inquire with the Cooperative Extension/4-H office for more information on how to apply. SUMMARY:Chatham Chopped Challenge Camp
DESCRIPTION:The Chatham Chopped Challenge Camp hosted Mon\, Jun 23-Wed\, Jun 25\, 9:30am-3:30pm is a thrilling day camp opportunity for youth 14-18 years old with a focus on building skills and creativity in the kitchen\, nutrition\, teamwork\, presentation skills\, and much more! Campers will learn the ins and outs of the Dinah Gore Healthy Food Challenge as they work in competitive teams to create nutritional art in the kitchen. Enrollment space is limited to 8 youth and will be processed on a first-come-first-serve basis. \nThis camp takes place at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center. Please note: No arrivals will be accepted before 9:20am. Campers must be dropped off and picked up on time – a fee will be assessed for late pick-ups. The cost is $75 per person. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available – please inquire with the Cooperative Extension/4-H office for more information on how to apply. Any dietary restrictions should be relayed to FCS Agent Tara Gregory at tara_gregory@ncsu.edu at least one month prior to ensure accommodations. Accommodation requests can be made to Tara Gregory up to one week before the workshop.
