DESCRIPTION:Pottery on the Wheel – Open Studio is for participants with experience on the wheel and for those who can work independently without instructor guidance. Supplies are not included – please bring a 25lb bag of cone 6 clay and clay tools. Limited space is available for this six-session class\, so make sure to register early! No class will take place Thu\, Mar 20. \nThe Arts Center is located at 964 East Street\, Pittsboro\, NC 27312\, on the backside of the building. The Art Party staff loves to create big fun for families and considers children and parent campers. Their goal is to create a very special day for both of you. Each day\, the Clapping Hands team sets out a spectacular array of visual arts explorations\, shares music and dance experiences\, and brings their enthusiastic\, big-hearted\, playful selves to each camp day. Activities include: \n\nFinger painting.\nMaking colorful slime.\nPlaying in shaving cream.\nDraw with pastels\, colored chalk\, and other mediums.\nLearn to embroider on burlap or sew your own stuffed animals.\nMake toys that fly and spin.\n\nAnd so much more! After the Art Party morning\, you’ll enjoy lunch together (bring a picnic lunch for your family). After lunch\, their staff will lead a sing-a-long/movement exploration. During “anything goes” in the afternoon\, you might build with a collection of 100 boxes\, play games\, or do more art. Singing games provide a lively morning circle\, and your day will end with a closing circle and a story told by Louise. It’s a good time for everyone! Picture doing a dozen fun things with your child/ren without having to set it up or clean it up! This class takes place on the following dates: \n\nSun\, Mar 9\, 10am-2pm. \nSat\, Mar 22\, 10am-2pm. \nSun\, Apr 6\, 10am-2pm. \nSat\, Apr 19\, 10am-2pm. \n\nAges 2-8 are welcome with a parent or caregiver. Session costs are outlined below: \n\nSingle Day: $60 for one child and parent. Each additional child is $30 a day. For babies and toddlers under 2\, there is a suggested donation of $10 a day. Families new to Clapping Hands Farm must sign up for at least 2 days.\nTwo & Three Days: $55 per day for one child and parents. Each additional child is $25 per day. SUMMARY:Paint From The Heart
DESCRIPTION:Express your vision with Paint from the Heart. Whatever opens the gate to your creativity and moves it forward is encouraged. Art is a process; it is often called “a journey without an end”. You will focus on creating paintings that reflect confidence while pushing boundaries and exploring new pathways for poetic expression in oil and acrylic. The aim is to use the workshop to try new approaches: exaggerated color\, energetic brushstrokes\, palette knife\, working big and small\, etc. It’s about challenging yourself to leave the comfort of familiar methods and embrace discovery as you let intuition guide your artistic choices with your photographic images. To guide student efforts\, attention to composition\, values\, color harmony\, simplifying\, and use of grays will be reinforced\, as well as discussion of materials\, supports\, brushes\, and mediums. Oil and acrylic painters of all skill levels are welcome to this workshop. The class size is limited to 12 people so that each student can receive individual attention throughout the workshop. This six-session class is taught by instructor Ann Lawtey. Please click here for the supply list guide. This class occurs every Tuesday\, Feb 18-Mar 25\, 10am-12:30pm. \nThe Arts Center is located at 964 East Street\, Pittsboro\, NC 27312\, on the backside of the building. To access the studio\, drive straight through the open gate and look for the sign on the door that reads “Arts Center.” Registration opens Mon\, Jan 6\, and closes Mon\, Feb 10. This event is held indoors by Chatham County Parks\, Recreation\, and Cultural Resources (CCPRCR).
