After all masterpieces are created\, you’ll head out into the sanctuary for an opportunity to see some of CTR’s most iconic resident animals up close. This tour is offered only once a month\, and tickets sell out quickly\, so get yours today! \nThe upcoming schedule for Tiger Tales Tours is below: \n\nWed\, Mar 18\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, Apr 22\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, May 20\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, Jun 24\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, Jul 22\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, Aug 19\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, Sep 23\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, Oct 21\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, Nov 11\, 9am-11:30am.\n\nAdvance tickets are required for attendees (no walk-ins available). Best for children ages 2-7 and their accompanying adult. Tours are offered once a month throughout the year\, rain or shine. DESCRIPTION:Carolina Tiger Rescue’s popular Twilight Tours run from March through October (Daylight Saving Time) on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday evenings. Tours are for adults only (guests ages 18 years and older). Twilight tours are a more intimate experience to meet CTR’s animals. During these tours\, guests are the only visitors in the sanctuary. The work of the day is done\, and the guests have the sanctuary all to themselves. Enjoy a quiet evening with the cats\, and you might just be lucky enough to be serenaded by the lions!  After all\, they are still wild animals!  As with all their tours\, they cannot guarantee what the cats will do\, but it’s hard to have a bad evening with the animals. \nThe 2026 schedule will begin on Sun\, Mar 8\, and run through Sat\, Oct 31. The timeframe provided in this event listing is an estimate – please check your tickets for the exact time slot. Your Twilight Tour will last for about 1 ½ hours. Please arrive 15 minutes early. Trained volunteer tour guides will walk you through the animal sanctuary. You will learn about the various species living at Carolina Tiger Rescue and the challenges they face in the wild\, as well as the difficulties they encounter in captivity. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and take photos\, but please note that there will be no physical contact with the animals. \nAdvance tickets are required for attendees (no walk-ins available). Tours are offered from April to October on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday evenings\, rain or shine. The cost is $32 per person\, and a maximum of 25 people may attend each tour. An evocative letter passed down in her family from the real Louisa Evans\, her great-great-grandmother\, inspired the literate\, introspective voice of her fictional Louisa’s journal. Because she’s happiest when she’s in her creative zone\, Nancy retired reluctantly from her career as an award-winning medical journalist and documentary filmmaker. As co-owner of a health communication company—her dream job—she wrote everything from brochures and books to television PSAs\, documentary scripts\, billboard slogans\, on and on. When she and her husband moved from Minnesota to North Carolina\, she found a new form of writing—personal essays. When she ran out of “life” to write about\, her writing group suggested she try fiction. Oh my goodness\, as her protagonist\, Louisa\, would say\, is she happy she followed their advice? Nancy now lives in the deep woods near Chapel Hill with her husband and has begun a second novel about England and Paris during the 1920 and 30s. \nSusan Ketchin is an author\, editor\, and teacher who lives in Chapel Hill. Author of The Christ-Haunted Landscape: Faith and Doubt in Southern Fiction (University Press of Mississippi)\, essays\, and short fiction\, Ketchin has taught creative writing at Duke University and North Carolina State University. She has served as Associate Editor at Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill\, fiction editor at Southern Exposure and DoubleTake Magazines\, and fiction and poetry editor of the St. Andrews Review. She is currently an editor with the North Carolina Writers’ Network’s Critique and Editing Service. Ketchin enjoys leading workshops and retreats in creative writing\, songwriting\, and publishing your works\, most recently with the Arts School in Carrboro\, NC.

He has over 40 years of experience\, has trained with many gifted international bonsai artists\, and enjoys sharing this “growing art” with others. He was previously the President of the Triangle Bonsai Society. \nThe fee for this class is $85 per person and includes all workshop materials you’ll need to create your very own bonsai\, an introductory bonsai book\, a detailed aftercare guide for your new tree\, and light hors d’oeuvres.
