DESCRIPTION:Golfers\, grab your clubs for a day of fun and fellowship for a good cause as the Central Carolina Community College Foundation hosts its 12th Annual Chatham County Golf Classic on Wed\, May 21\, 9am-2pm at Chapel Ridge Golf Club. The format for the Chatham County Golf Classic is four-person Captain’s Choice. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams in each flight. Shotgun starts at 9am\, with lunch from 1pm-2pm.  \nThe Chatham County Golf Classic registration form can be downloaded from the Foundation’s website. Registration is also available by contacting CCCC Director of Community Engagement Alexandra Dowdy at (919) 718-7338 or by email at adowdy@cccc.edu. \nThe proceeds from the Golf Classic will be used to help provide scholarships and other financial assistance. The CCCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization affiliated with\, but independent of\, Central Carolina Community College. You’ll join one of their trained team members for a fun and engaging story time before creating an animal-themed take-home craft. After all masterpieces are created\, you’ll head out into the sanctuary for an opportunity to see some of CTR’s most iconic resident animals up close. This tour is offered only once a month\, and tickets sell out quickly\, so get yours today! \nThe upcoming schedule for Tiger Tales Tours is below: \n\nWed\, Mar 18\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, Apr 22\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, May 20\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, Jun 24\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, Jul 22\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, Aug 19\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, Sep 23\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, Oct 21\, 9am-11:30am.\nWed\, Nov 11\, 9am-11:30am.\n\nAdvance tickets are required for attendees (no walk-ins available). The work of the day is done\, and the guests have the sanctuary all to themselves. Enjoy a quiet evening with the cats\, and you might just be lucky enough to be serenaded by the lions!  After all\, they are still wild animals!  As with all their tours\, they cannot guarantee what the cats will do\, but it’s hard to have a bad evening with the animals. \nThe 2026 schedule will begin on Sun\, Mar 8\, and run through Sat\, Oct 31. The timeframe provided in this event listing is an estimate – please check your tickets for the exact time slot. Your Twilight Tour will last for about 1 ½ hours. Please arrive 15 minutes early. Trained volunteer tour guides will walk you through the animal sanctuary. You will learn about the various species living at Carolina Tiger Rescue and the challenges they face in the wild\, as well as the difficulties they encounter in captivity. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and take photos\, but please note that there will be no physical contact with the animals. \nAdvance tickets are required for attendees (no walk-ins available). Tours are offered from April to October on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday evenings\, rain or shine. The cost is $32 per person\, and a maximum of 25 people may attend each tour. Where awareness goes\, energy flows—this process empowers you to shift your state of consciousness to nurture your own personal growth and healing. \nInspired by the elements\, Elemental Rhythm Breathwork incorporates different breathing techniques\, followed by a meditation and reflection period to integrate the experiences from the breathwork session. The journey concludes with a sharing circle\, offering space for connection and expression. Benefits of breathwork include: \n\nImproved sleep quality.\nReduced stress and anxiety.\nA relaxed body and mind.\nEnhanced mental clarity.\nPain reduction.\nDecreased inflammation.\n\nNo experience is required; just come with an open mind. Participants are advised to review potential health contraindications before attending class. The cost is $25 per person. If you have had or currently have any of the following conditions\, permission to participate in breathwork from your healthcare provider is required:  \n\nEpilepsy.\nHigh blood pressure is not controlled by medicine. \nCardiovascular disease. \nHeart attack. \nStroke. \nGlaucoma/detached retina. \nOsteoporosis. \nAneurysm. \nBi-polar. \nSchizophrenia. \nAny other significant health challenges.  If you are pregnant\, you can not participate in breathwork. If you have asthma\, you must have your inhaler next to you.\n\nPOSSIBLE CONTRAINDICATIONS \nPost-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD): Although many people find great healing through breathwork with regards to PTSD\, clearance from your healthcare professional is required before the breathwork activity if you have a severe case or are currently under a therapist’s care. Clearance is also required for any other medical\, psychiatric\, or physical condition that would impair or affect the ability to engage in activities involving intense physical and/or emotional release. As breathwork can trigger strong emotional releases we want to ensure extra care and support can be provided during and after the experience.
