In this 2-hour workshop\, you will learn the stencil method of screen printing and print from a large selection of botanical silhouettes\, words\, and basic shapes onto paper and fabric. Participants will leave with multiple paper prints and one print on a fabric product of choice (t-shirt\, tote\, apron\, pillow case\, and more/while supplies last). This is an RSVP event held for those ages 16 and older. Following the race\, enjoy the day in Chatham County\, exploring our attractions\, restaurants\, and breweries. \nEVENT DETAILS \nBeginning at the ALL NEW Chatham YMCA (120 Parkland Drive\, Pittsboro)\, you’ll race through Chatham Park. Runners will follow greenways\, sidewalks\, and shoulders. The 5K and 10K will share the course with 5K runners\, turning around slightly earlier. Walkers are welcome. Pets are not allowed on the race course. Baby strollers/joggers are permitted\, but for the safety of all participants\, please start at the back behind the runners and walkers. \nRace day parking will be available at the Chatham YMCA. SUMMARY:2026 Annual Spring Cleanup at Jordan Lake
DESCRIPTION:Join Clean Up Jordan Lake for their 2026 Annual Spring Cleanup on Sat\, Mar 14\, 8:30am-12pm. Clean Jordan Lake is joining a group of local organizations hosting cleanup events as part of Creek Week activities\, including the Chatham County\, Orange County\, and Keep Durham Beautiful. Assignments include: \n\nWalkers: You will be divided into groups at registration.\nBoaters: Boaters are needed to ferry some volunteers to their cleanup track and back\, and also to help haul trash back to the dumpster at the Corps Bulkhead. Boaters who wish to ferry volunteers only are welcome. They will loan 2-way radios to boaters for communication.\nKayakers: Come to the registration table at 8:45am to receive assignments from CJL leaders.\n\nThis year\, they continue their tradition of offering a Trash Treasure Hunt. Items marked by “CJL TTH” are shown to the track captain\, who will issue a CJL business card redeemable for a merchandise prize at the registration table. Coffee and pastries will be available during registration. \nAll volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and work gloves (provided or bring your own). They strongly recommend long pants\, a long-sleeve shirt\, and a hat. Shoreline Track Captains will be present to guide volunteers. Volunteers will be provided with bags\, trash grabbers\, first-aid kits\, water\, and gloves\, if needed. Pontoon boat and operator courtesy of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers \nAll participants must complete a liability waiver form online before the event. Waiver forms for Adults and Minors (age 11-18) must be submitted online by going to: \n\nAdults- https://www.cleanjordanlake.org/volunteer-waiver.\nMinors- https://www.cleanjordanlake.org/minor-waiver.\n\nDue to potential hazards\, they cannot allow children under 11 to participate. Children over the age of 11 and under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. \nDIRECTIONS \nGo to Jordan Lake State Recreation Area\, New Hope Access. Go straight past the ticket booth onto a dirt road. Follow the signs to parking. Space is limited on the narrow road\, so please carpool or arrange a drop-off if possible. Volunteers will be on-site to assist with parking.  Here’s where to go. \nThis event is free and takes place outdoors. This is not a safe activity for pets—please leave your furry friends at home. SUMMARY:Twilight Tours at Carolina Tiger Rescue
DESCRIPTION:Carolina Tiger Rescue’s popular Twilight Tours run from March through October (Daylight Saving Time) on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday evenings. Tours are for adults only (guests ages 18 years and older). Twilight tours are a more intimate experience to meet CTR’s animals. During these tours\, guests are the only visitors in the sanctuary. The work of the day is done\, and the guests have the sanctuary all to themselves. Enjoy a quiet evening with the cats\, and you might just be lucky enough to be serenaded by the lions!  After all\, they are still wild animals!  As with all their tours\, they cannot guarantee what the cats will do\, but it’s hard to have a bad evening with the animals. \nThe 2026 schedule will begin on Sun\, Mar 8\, and run through Sat\, Oct 31. The timeframe provided in this event listing is an estimate – please check your tickets for the exact time slot. Your Twilight Tour will last for about 1 ½ hours. Please arrive 15 minutes early. Trained volunteer tour guides will walk you through the animal sanctuary. You will learn about the various species living at Carolina Tiger Rescue and the challenges they face in the wild\, as well as the difficulties they encounter in captivity. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and take photos\, but please note that there will be no physical contact with the animals. \nAdvance tickets are required for attendees (no walk-ins available). Tours are offered from April to October on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday evenings\, rain or shine. The cost is $32 per person\, and a maximum of 25 people may attend each tour. Tickets are available 8 weeks before your visit. \nSee more events at Carolina Tiger Rescue. \nBEFORE YOU VISIT \nThere are several things CTR would like you to know before booking your tour. Please reach the information below before purchasing your tickets: \n\nAll tours go out rain or shine. In the event of an extreme weather event\, Carolina Tiger Rescue will contact guests to inform them if a cancellation is necessary.\nPhotos may be taken during your tour after you’ve signed your visitor release.\nThe Education Center is wheelchair-accessible; however\, the gravel and grass paths may be more challenging to navigate for individuals with mobility impairments. Golf carts are available to assist guests as needed. If you have accessibility concerns\, please call 919.542.4648 to make arrangements before your visit.\nGPS may not provide accurate directions to CTR’s location. They recommend using the directions from their website to ensure a successful arrival.\nCTR does not allow outside animals anywhere on the property. Please leave your pets at home.

SUMMARY:Tobacco Road Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The Tobacco Road Marathon and Half-Marathon feature over 20 miles of the American Tobacco Trail (including 4 miles of Chatham County\, NC). Up to twenty percent of their runners qualify for the Legendary Boston Marathon. Less experienced runners benefit\, too\, as the fast and flat energy-absorbing course and ideal spring temperatures make it an excellent venue for your next personal record!  \nThe 16th Annual Tobacco Road Marathon and Half Marathon is Sun\, Mar 14\, 2027. As in prior years\, both races will begin at 7am on Brooks Park Lane and head towards the entrance of Thomas Brooks Park. The first and last 2.5 miles of both races are on paved roadways. The ATT surface is compacted screenings\, with some sections combining this with asphalt. \nWhether you are participating or cheering for a friend or family member\, there is plenty to do in our area – local eateries\, places to stay\, craft beverage tastings and tours\, wineries\, nature activities\, golf\, shopping\, and more. Take advantage of all that Chatham County has to offer!  \nThe Tobacco Road Marathon is organized by a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing partner charities with financial assistance by channeling passionate runners everywhere\, particularly those in the North Carolina Triangle area\, into a powerful force for good. Over the years\, the event has raised over $1.7 million for charities\, including the American Red Cross\, JDRF\, Hope for the Warriors\, and Triangle Rails to Trails Conservancy (ATT is a Rails to Trails project).  \nThe inaugural event was held Mar 21\, 2010\, with over 3\,400 registered runners representing 39 states. Approximately 4\,000 runners and thousands of spectators will attend this year’s event. In 2014\, Runner’s World Magazine named the Tobacco Road Marathon one of the top ten best new marathons.
