Why do uncertainty\, unpredictability\, and feeling “out of control” create so much stress? In this Mental Health Matters talk\, therapist Danny Eller\, LCSW\, explores the hidden anxiety beneath control\, perfectionism\, overthinking\, and rigidity. Participants will learn how the mind uses control to manage fear and uncertainty\, and why those strategies often leave individuals feeling more exhausted\, frustrated\, and disconnected. This practical and accessible conversation will help attendees better understand stress\, anxiety\, emotional rigidity\, and the challenge of letting go\, while offering healthier ways to respond to uncertainty in everyday life. \n\n\nThis FREE indoor event is open to coworking members and the public. They offer a 40-mile ultramarathon\, a 40K open race for men and women\, and a 40-mile age-graded team relay for up to 10 members—with age and gender factored in to determine the overall winning team. There’s also a 4-mile open race. You’ll have a blast at the Shakori 40\, thanks to great camaraderie\, live music\, delicious food\, camping\, bonfires\, craft beer\, and so much more. \nThey’ll keep the energy high day and night with classic rock favorites and Woodstock-era gems—some you know by heart and others you’ll discover for the first time. They’ll also feature two live bands: one on Friday night and another on Saturday during the race\, enhancing the Shakori vibe and spirit. This musical atmosphere ensures an unforgettable experience for runners and visitors alike. If you’re not running\, you can purchase a non-runner ticket and enjoy the Friday night party\, as well as your complimentary beverage at the Shakori Barn while taking in the sounds and scenery.
