This incredible sports and recreation opportunity\, now in its 25th year\, has stopped overnight in more than 100 towns. Pittsboro-Siler City Convention & Visitors Bureau\, Chatham Sports Alliance\, and our many partners can’t wait to host a fantastic event showcasing all that Chatham County offers. Thank you to our sponsors: MOSAIC and Chatham Park\, 79° West\, Ancient Arts Festival\, and Cape Fear River Adventures.  \nThe event will pass through Chatham County and stop overnight in Pittsboro on Wednesday\, October 9\, and into the morning of Thursday\, October 10. This event hosted at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center (CCACC) promises live musical performances\, a Biergarten with local craft beverage distributors and food trucks\, massage therapy\, pollinator garden tours\, a wide array of vendors\, and much more! CCACC will also host camping and catered meals for cyclists. Live music for the day is as follows: \n\nWed\, Oct 9\, 11:30am-2pm Glenn Jones\nWed\, Oct 9\, 2pm-4:30pm Geoff McBride\nWed\, Oct 9\, 4:30pm-6:30pm Big Time Shine\n\nWe are thrilled to announce MOSAIC and Chatham Park as our Official Cycle NC After Party Sponsor! Get ready for a special MOSAIC mid-week concert Wednesday\, October 9\, featuring The Embers from 7pm to 9pm on the Philip H. Kohl MOSAIC Family Commons. The lawn opens at 6pm\, so come early to claim your spot (and be sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket\, too). This event is F R E E and open to the public! Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Hops & Berry—Pittsboro\, Greek Kouzina\, and other MOSAIC tenants (please note that no outside alcohol is allowed inside the venue). \nChatham Transit will provide shuttles for participants to hotels in Pittsboro and Siler City (if you are interested in adding your business to the shuttle route\, please contact us). Online registration is open at www.ncsports.org\, and interested riders are encouraged to register early to avoid missing out. \nChatham Sports Alliance is a Pittsboro-Siler City Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) collaborative effort driving economic impact through the positive power of sports. The CVB is responsible for destination marketing and visitor-related economic development\, film\, and sports development. DESCRIPTION:Find wellness and connection at this Hike and Chill: American Tobacco Trail on Sat\, Mar 8\, 9:30am-1pm\, hosted by Lets Get Social Raleigh. This 3-mile stroll is a perfect way to reset\, connect\, and crush your goals for 2025! Participants are encouraged to begin arriving around 9:30am. Stretching is at 9:45am and the hike will start promptly at 10am. This hike takes place on a paved trail with no inclines (difficulty: easy). Ages 18+\, please. Make sure to bring water\, sunscreen\, a hiking stick (if needed)\, and dress warmly. After the hike\, the group will decide on a place to grab brunch and get to know each other better. \nParticipation in this event is FREE! Plan ahead and arrive early for the best parking – spaces fill up fast. Carpooling is highly encouraged and recommended. This event is open to everyone of all hiking levels. DESCRIPTION:The Spring Art Party at Clapping Hands Farm is a joyous family camp for parents and young children to enjoy together! The Art Party staff loves to create big fun for families and considers children and parent campers. Their goal is to create a very special day for both of you. Each day\, the Clapping Hands team sets out a spectacular array of visual arts explorations\, shares music and dance experiences\, and brings their enthusiastic\, big-hearted\, playful selves to each camp day. Activities include: \n\nFinger painting.\nMaking colorful slime.\nPlaying in shaving cream.\nDraw with pastels\, colored chalk\, and other mediums.\nLearn to embroider on burlap or sew your own stuffed animals.\nMake toys that fly and spin.\n\nAnd so much more! After the Art Party morning\, you’ll enjoy lunch together (bring a picnic lunch for your family). After lunch\, their staff will lead a sing-a-long/movement exploration. During “anything goes” in the afternoon\, you might build with a collection of 100 boxes\, play games\, or do more art. Singing games provide a lively morning circle\, and your day will end with a closing circle and a story told by Louise. It’s a good time for everyone! Picture doing a dozen fun things with your child/ren without having to set it up or clean it up! This class takes place on the following dates: \n\nSun\, Mar 9\, 10am-2pm. \nSat\, Mar 22\, 10am-2pm. \nSun\, Apr 6\, 10am-2pm. \nSat\, Apr 19\, 10am-2pm. \n\nAges 2-8 are welcome with a parent or caregiver. Session costs are outlined below: \n\nSingle Day: $60 for one child and parent. Each additional child is $30 a day. For babies and toddlers under 2\, there is a suggested donation of $10 a day. Families new to Clapping Hands Farm must sign up for at least 2 days.\nTwo & Three Days: $55 per day for one child and parents. Each additional child is $25 per day. DESCRIPTION:Community Organizing for Racial Equity (CORE) welcomes you to join them for their Spring 2025 Racial Equity Fundamentals Workshop\, CORE’s most requested workshop across the state\, on Sat\, Mar 15\, 8am-3pm. This workshop is designed to initiate conversations about race and racism while exploring methods to drive systemic change\, shift power\, and promote community healing in the movement toward collective liberation. It’s presented in a series of four modules over one day\, with a facilitated discussion on equity as outlined below: \n\nEquity Fundamentals – Having a shared language brings attendees to a joint understanding of equity and how it is related to systemic racism and oppression. This module offers participants information on core concepts\, terminology\, and theories to show how racism has been constructed and maintained.\nAn Historical Examination –  In this module we will briefly examine the historical impact of racism and the current implications today. Knowing and understanding what systemic racism has meant throughout history allows us to explain today’s current implications.\nWhat is Power? – Participants will discover the value of looking beneath the surface to employ our sagacious mind.
