Take a walk through downtown Pittsboro for an evening filled with local folklore and historical reenactments. The tour blends Chatham’s rich heritage with stories and legends\, all presented by costumed interpreters portraying figures from the town’s past. \nThe journey begins at the historic courthouse and winds through old cemeteries\, churches\, and hidden corners\, with each stop offering a window into the lives of the people and moments that shaped Pittsboro. The tour will take place on the following dates: \n\nSat\, Oct 18\, 5:30pm-7:30pm.\nSun\, Oct 19\, 5:30pm-7:30pm.\n\nEVENT DETAILS \n\nCheck-in is at 5:15pm\, with the tour starting promptly at 5:30pm both days.\nAge Requirement: 12 years and older only (no pets or strollers).\nWeather: Rain or shine (rescheduled only in case of severe weather).\nThis tour takes place indoors and outside\, lasting between 90 and 120 minutes.\nBring a flashlight. Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes.\nA liability waiver will be required at check-in.\nLimited to 60 participants per evening\, split into three small groups for a more personal experience.\nFree parking is available behind the new Chatham County Courthouse and Justice Center.\nPets are not allowed; please leave your furry friends at home.\nAccessibility: Tour participants will need to be able to navigate stairs\, outdoor sidewalks\, and grassy areas.\n\nTickets are $25 for CCHA members and $30 per person for nonmembers. This workshop is perfect for a girls’ afternoon out\, a special mother-daughter bonding experience\, or a fun date for couples. \nThis class takes place at the Jordan Lake Farms Pavilion. The cost is $80 per arrangement participant and $20 for participant guest/floral helpers. The workshop includes a pumpkin-shaped cookie jar that will come in handy for the fall season\, a bucket full of flowers\, fall decorations\, step-by-step instructions\, tools\, and a glass of wine. Guests to the farm will find a pumpkin patch (cut your own pumpkin right off the vine)\, a cotton patch\, and a mini Field of Dreams. \nHours\, Directions\, & Pricing \nSaturdays\, 10am-6pm and Sundays\, 1pm-6pm. \nThe last ticket is sold one hour before closing. The tour will take place on the following dates: \n\nSat\, Oct 18\, 5:30pm-7:30pm.\nSun\, Oct 19\, 5:30pm-7:30pm.\n\nEVENT DETAILS \n\nCheck-in is at 5:15pm\, with the tour starting promptly at 5:30pm both days.\nAge Requirement: 12 years and older only (no pets or strollers).\nWeather: Rain or shine (rescheduled only in case of severe weather).\nThis tour takes place indoors and outside\, lasting between 90 and 120 minutes.\nBring a flashlight. SUMMARY:Kayak Basics at Farrington Point
DESCRIPTION:Join Frog Hollow Outdoors for Kayak Basics at Farrington Point on Sat\, Oct 18\, 11am-1pm at Jordan Lake State Recreation Area. If you’re new to kayaking or are interested in trying it out\, this class is a great place to start! They cover basics in kayak nomenclature\, wet-exit procedure\, and what we refer to as the “building-block strokes.” Participants will also be introduced\, through demonstration\, to some more advanced skills and strokes. Ages 10 and up are welcome. Pricing can be found on the website. Trips take off from the Farrington Point Boat Ramp. \nKNOW BEFORE YOU GO \n\nAll guests will be provided with a kayak\, a personal flotation device (life vest)\, and a paddle. The recommended packing list can be found here. Guests will need to provide their own lunches. \nAdvanced online registration is required. Trips may be cancelled if the minimum group size of 2 is not met. Please note that environmental factors may impact the planned curriculum for the day. Gratuity for guides/instructors is always appreciated. \nEstimating the time spent on water for river trips can be a challenging task. Numerous variables can affect the duration of a trip. A few considerations for this are water level and flow\, group experience\, managing a capsized canoe or kayak\, and other relevant factors. Guests may be asked to assist with the shuttle. Shorter distance trips can take 3–5 hours\, longer distance trips can take 4–7 hours.\nParticipants during winter months must wear cold-weather paddling gear appropriate for the air and water temperatures. Frog Hollow may be able to provide cold-weather paddle clothing to those who request it.

The family’s mission is to bring all kids back to the outdoors with the goal of making many of the farm activities wheelchair-accessible and autism-friendly. \nHuckleberry Trail Farm celebrated 10 years in 2021. Explore the corn maze\, pumpkins\, and fall decorations\, and purchase refreshments. Take a ride on a tractor-drawn hayride (for transportation down to the pumpkin patch). Merchandise is available on-site for purchase\, too. Guests to the farm will find a pumpkin patch (cut your own pumpkin right off the vine)\, a cotton patch\, and a mini Field of Dreams. \nHours\, Directions\, & Pricing \nSaturdays\, 10am-6pm and Sundays\, 1pm-6pm. \nThe last ticket is sold one hour before closing. The last hayride is 30 minutes before closing.
