SUMMARY:Jordan Lake Bald Eagle Paddles
DESCRIPTION:Join Frog Hollow Outdoors for Jordan Lake Bald Eagle Paddles along the northern reaches of Jordan Lake in search of its majestic residents. Jordan Lake State Recreation Area is considered one of the largest summertime nesting areas for Bald Eagles in the southeastern US. While they cannot guarantee a bald eagle sighting\, they can say that over the last handful of years\, they have spotted between 8 and 35 eagles on every trip that has run\, along with numerous other amazing raptors and lake residents. \nSCHEDULE \n\nSat\, Apr 26\, 8:30am-1:30pm. \nSun\, Jun 22\, 8:30am-1:30pm.\n\nAges 8 and up are welcome. Pricing can be found on the website. Trips take off from the Farrington Point Boat Ramp. \nKNOW BEFORE YOU GO \n\nAll guests will be provided with a kayak\, a personal flotation device (life vest)\, and a paddle. The recommended packing list can be found here. Guests will need to provide their own lunches. \nIntermediate skills are recommended; the trip distance can be up to 8 miles. They DO NOT recommend this trip to be someone’s first paddling experience. This trip is not appropriate for children under 13.\nAdvanced online registration is required. Trips may be cancelled if the minimum group size of 4 is not met. Please note that environmental factors may impact the planned curriculum for the day. Gratuity for guides/instructors is always appreciated. \nEstimating the time spent on water for river trips can be a challenging task. Numerous variables can affect the duration of a trip. A few considerations for this are water level and flow\, group experience\, managing a capsized canoe or kayak\, and other relevant factors. Guests may be asked to assist with the shuttle. Shorter distance trips can take 3–5 hours\, longer distance trips can take 4–7 hours.\nParticipants during winter months must wear cold-weather paddling gear appropriate for the air and water temperatures. Frog Hollow may be able to provide cold-weather paddle clothing to those who request it.

Rosé actually has a vast range of possibilities showcasing different techniques\, philosophies\, and most importantly\, flavors. \nYou’re invited to join Fearrington Wine Director Troy Revell as he leads you through a kaleidoscope of possibilities\, exploring varied selections from around the world\, including French selections of Tavel and Tibouren\, Spain\, Lebanon\, and probably something sparkling… all perfect to get everyone in the mood for summer. A few small bites from Chef Gagne are included\, and wines tasted will be available for purchase at the end of the event. The class will take place on the Terrace behind The Fearrington House Restaurant. \nThis $75 all-inclusive wine class is non-refundable. SUMMARY:Come Out and Play Sculpture Show
DESCRIPTION:Dozens of artists\, creating in a myriad of media\, are represented in this annual Come Out and Play Sculpture Show\, now in its 24th year. The event takes place on a 17-acre homestead and is a gift from hosts to guests and artists. Artists do not pay a participation fee and keep all proceeds from their sales (many of the works on display are for sale). There are some out-of-state artists\, but most are local to North Carolina. Each reception is filled with fantastic art and local vendors\, free food and drink from the artists and hosts\, visits with the horses and pigs\, and live music from the North Carolina Songwriters Co-op. \nThe opening reception for 2025 is Sat\, Aug 23 and Sun\, Aug 24\, 12pm until dark. Additional receptions are hosted on the following Saturdays: Aug 30\, Sep 6\, Sep 13\, and Sep 20\, 12pm until dark. Events are free.
