Part of The Road to Death Faire. \nINSTRUCTOR BIOGRAPHY \nMcKenzie Bossert\, MA\, LCMHC\, NCC\, CEDS\, is a licensed clinical mental health counselor in private practice in Apex\, NC. An integral part of McKenzie’s approach to healing is the understanding that time spent in nature is a form of medicine. She is a certified forest therapy guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs and has earned a Certificate in Horticultural Therapy from the Horticultural Therapy Institute. In addition to weaving ecotherapy elements into her private practice\, McKenzie also offers forest therapy walks to the community to raise awareness of the physical\, emotional\, and spiritual benefits of being in relationship with the land.

Cathy Brooksie Edwards will lead you through a powerful journey of breathwork\, light movement\, and healing touch. As you travel the transformative spaces of the fall season\, musicians Amy Durso\, Lolly Dunlap\, Sheila Fleming\, and special guests Will Ridenour and Richard Edwards will provide a soulful soundscape. Hands-on healers will be present to provide light energy work during the soundscape’s rest period. \nPlease bring your own yoga mat\, water\, a blanket\, and any props that support your comfort as you relax in the stillness of your tender heart. Chairs will be available. Feel free to arrive several minutes early to prepare your spot and settle into your sacred space for participation. This free community event at Starrlight does not require advanced registration. DESCRIPTION:Join Yoga Garden PBO for Grief and Cacao with heart2heartnc on Sat\, Nov 29\, 1:30pm-3:30pm. Cacao\, hailed as the Food of the Gods\, is at the center of this heart-opening experience. This raw\, unprocessed form of cocoa has been used in ceremony and ritual by many cultures for centuries. It has a unique ability to stimulate blood flow and focus on the heart rather than the nervous system. Enriched with tryptophan\, a serotonin precursor\, pure cacao can also lead to a heightened sense of well-being and relaxation. \nLed by the heart2heart team and guided by experienced facilitator Brooksie Edwards\, this ceremony is a profound exploration of processing and integrating grief and love in their myriad forms. Joining Brooksie are Lolly Dunlap and Amy Durso\, weaving a tapestry of music and chanting throughout the ceremony. They invite sharing\, breathwork\, movement\, meditation\, and a serene period of relaxation and renewal. \nThis ceremony serves as a grounding experience\, inviting you to open your heart\, fostering a deeper connection with yourself and the world\, and facilitating the internal processing and release of grief that may reside within. In this sacred space\, all forms of grief are acknowledged and welcomed. The cost is $55 per person\, with a partial scholarship option available for $30.
