DESCRIPTION:Carolina Tiger Rescue’s popular Twilight Tours run from March through October (Daylight Saving Time) on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday evenings. Tours are for adults only (guests ages 18 years and older). Twilight tours are a more intimate experience to meet CTR’s animals. During these tours\, guests are the only visitors in the sanctuary. The work of the day is done\, and the guests have the sanctuary all to themselves. Enjoy a quiet evening with the cats\, and you might just be lucky enough to be serenaded by the lions!  After all\, they are still wild animals!  As with all their tours\, they cannot guarantee what the cats will do\, but it’s hard to have a bad evening with the animals. \nThe 2026 schedule will begin on Sun\, Mar 8\, and run through Sat\, Oct 31. The timeframe provided in this event listing is an estimate – please check your tickets for the exact time slot. Your Twilight Tour will last for about 1 ½ hours. Please arrive 15 minutes early. Trained volunteer tour guides will walk you through the animal sanctuary. You will learn about the various species living at Carolina Tiger Rescue and the challenges they face in the wild\, as well as the difficulties they encounter in captivity. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and take photos\, but please note that there will be no physical contact with the animals. \nAdvance tickets are required for attendees (no walk-ins available). Tours are offered from April to October on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday evenings\, rain or shine. The cost is $32 per person\, and a maximum of 25 people may attend each tour. DESCRIPTION:You do not want to miss The Inn at Celebrity Dairy’s annual Open Barn hosted every Saturday\, Feb 14-Apr 18\, 12pm-5pm. Explore the barn\, scratch a mama goat behind the ears\, and cuddle with some adorable baby goats. This is a great opportunity to learn more about small farm life\, with plenty of fun for the whole family. The price is $10 per person at the gate\, with kids ages 2 and under receiving free admission. The Inn offers homemade lunch and other goodies for sale (including vegetarian options) for an additional cost. \nOpen Barns are rain or shine\, so if it’s cold\, make sure to bundle up\, and if it’s wet\, wear your boots! Most of the event takes place under cover (and the baby goats will help keep you warm)! Free parking is available on-site. No pets are allowed. \nBook a stay at the inn to get in on all the baby goat fun\, including daily baby bottle feedings! 2-hour private barn tours are also available throughout the season (February-April 2026). Celebrity Dairy will guide you through how to feed the goats and answer all your goat-related questions. Bookings are $225 for groups of up to 15 and $15 per additional guest. DESCRIPTION:Carolina Tiger Rescue is excited to offer its new Home School Middle School Program\, hosted every Tuesday\, Mar 3-24\, 9am-12pm. This program gives students a glimpse into what it takes to care for the animals at Carolina Tiger Rescue across 4 areas. Students will spend a morning on each of the following topics: \n\nAnimal Behavior: What is it\, and how can understanding it help us better care for animals?\nEnclosure Design and Enrichment: What requirements have to be met to house large and small carnivores? What does it take to keep our animals physically and mentally healthy?\nVet Care: What happens when an animal gets sick? How do we care for aging animals? What challenges does our animal care staff face with our animals in terms of health?\nProblems in the Wild: What problems do the wild cousins of our residents face? What can we do to help?\n\nThis fast-paced\, STEM-centered program is sure to keep your student engaged while learning about unique challenges that arise when caring for large and small wild cats! DESCRIPTION:Join Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) for Understanding Organic Inputs & Supplies on Wed\, Mar 25\, 10am-2pm. This workshop will begin with a tour and exploration of Country Farm and Home\, led by owner Melinda Fitzgerald. You will discuss soil amendments\, pest control products\, tools\, tarps/row covers/fabrics\, irrigation components\, and anything else you find on the shelves. This workshop will also discuss cover crops\, strawberries\, potatoes\, alliums\, sweet potatoes\, and other items available at Country Farm and Home. \nAfter a lunch break\, you will travel just down the road to the Central Carolina Community College Student Organic Farm\, where Farm Manager Farrell Moose will give you a tour and presentation on amending soils based on your soil test results. Lunch will not be provided. Pack a lunch or check out the spots in Pittsboro. This event is free to attend\, but registration is required; please register by Sun\, Mar 22\, 2026. \nThis work is supported through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP). SUMMARY:Bald Eagle Search Paddle with Two Sisters Adventure Company
DESCRIPTION:Join Two Sisters Adventure Company for a Bald Eagle Search Paddle at Jordan Lake State Recreation Area\, hosted on select dates throughout 2026. Jordan Lake is one of the best Bald Eagle viewing locations in the region. You will paddle past multiple nesting areas in search of our majestic national bird. While sightings are not guaranteed\, Bald Eagles are most common in the areas they visit. Your guide will help you identify and answer questions about Bald Eagles and other birds in the area. All participants should have basic kayaking skills\, due to the duration on the water this trip is considered intermediate. Pre-registration is required. Participants will launch from the Farrington Point Access. The trip will last approximately 4 hours. DESCRIPTION:You do not want to miss The Inn at Celebrity Dairy’s annual Open Barn hosted every Saturday\, Feb 14-Apr 18\, 12pm-5pm. Explore the barn\, scratch a mama goat behind the ears\, and cuddle with some adorable baby goats. This is a great opportunity to learn more about small farm life\, with plenty of fun for the whole family. The price is $10 per person at the gate\, with kids ages 2 and under receiving free admission. The Inn offers homemade lunch and other goodies for sale (including vegetarian options) for an additional cost. \nOpen Barns are rain or shine\, so if it’s cold\, make sure to bundle up\, and if it’s wet\, wear your boots! Most of the event takes place under cover (and the baby goats will help keep you warm)! Free parking is available on-site. No pets are allowed. \nBook a stay at the inn to get in on all the baby goat fun\, including daily baby bottle feedings! 2-hour private barn tours are also available throughout the season (February-April 2026). Celebrity Dairy will guide you through how to feed the goats and answer all your goat-related questions. Bookings are $225 for groups of up to 15 and $15 per additional guest. This is a great opportunity to learn more about small farm life\, with plenty of fun for the whole family. The price is $10 per person at the gate\, with kids ages 2 and under receiving free admission. The Inn offers homemade lunch and other goodies for sale (including vegetarian options) for an additional cost. \nOpen Barns are rain or shine\, so if it’s cold\, make sure to bundle up\, and if it’s wet\, wear your boots! Most of the event takes place under cover (and the baby goats will help keep you warm)! Free parking is available on-site. No pets are allowed. \nBook a stay at the inn to get in on all the baby goat fun\, including daily baby bottle feedings! 2-hour private barn tours are also available throughout the season (February-April 2026). You will have the opportunity to ask questions and take photos\, but please note that there will be no physical contact with the animals. \nAdvance tickets are required for attendees (no walk-ins available). Tours are offered from April to October on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday evenings\, rain or shine. The cost is $32 per person\, and a maximum of 25 people may attend each tour. Tickets are available 8 weeks before your visit. \nSee more events at Carolina Tiger Rescue. \nBEFORE YOU VISIT \nThere are several things CTR would like you to know before booking your tour. Please reach the information below before purchasing your tickets: \n\nAll tours go out rain or shine. In the event of an extreme weather event\, Carolina Tiger Rescue will contact guests to inform them if a cancellation is necessary.\nPhotos may be taken during your tour after you’ve signed your visitor release.\nThe Education Center is wheelchair-accessible; however\, the gravel and grass paths may be more challenging to navigate for individuals with mobility impairments. Golf carts are available to assist guests as needed. If you have accessibility concerns\, please call 919.542.4648 to make arrangements before your visit.\nGPS may not provide accurate directions to CTR’s location. They recommend using the directions from their website to ensure a successful arrival.\nCTR does not allow outside animals anywhere on the property. Please leave your pets at home.
