Activities will include: \n\nGetting messy with visual arts.\nMoving and grooving with music and dance.\nDiving deep into your journals\, stories\, and conversations.\nGetting silly with random activities.\nProtecting space for some “serious” relaxation.\nPlaying hard with some big all-camp games.\n\nThe day will include a variety of workshops in the morning and afternoon: \n\nDrumming\, songwriting\, and music jams.\nBook and printmaking.\nFinger painting and body art.\nForaging and nature mandalas.\nArchery and ultimate frisbee.\nNap time with Kora music.\n\nThe camp day will also include morning and closing circles\, a small-group check-in\, and an invitation to begin the day with meditation\, movement\, or art. MOSAIC at Chatham Park’s common spaces around campus are wheelchair accessible for public use.  \nAccessible parking spaces and a drop-off location are available at 120 Mosaic Blvd\, Pittsboro\, NC 27312\, located in the 79°West and Hops & Berry Taproom parking lot. Upon arrival\, present your Accessible Parking Placard to the event security personnel stationed at the entrance of the accessible parking lot and drop-off location for entry. MOSAIC also has multiple accessible parking spaces\, centrally located in front of building entrances throughout the campus.  \nAt this time\, MOSAIC at Chatham Park does not offer sensory kits or quiet spaces for Autistic and Neurodivergent individuals. However\, they do offer a children’s play zone located beside the Philip H. Kohl MOSAIC Family Commons.

SUMMARY:Twilight Tours at Carolina Tiger Rescue
DESCRIPTION:Carolina Tiger Rescue’s popular Twilight Tours run from March through October (Daylight Saving Time) on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday evenings. Tours are for adults only (guests ages 18 years and older). Twilight tours are a more intimate experience to meet CTR’s animals. During these tours\, guests are the only visitors in the sanctuary. The work of the day is done\, and the guests have the sanctuary all to themselves. Enjoy a quiet evening with the cats\, and you might just be lucky enough to be serenaded by the lions!  After all\, they are still wild animals!  As with all their tours\, they cannot guarantee what the cats will do\, but it’s hard to have a bad evening with the animals. \nThe 2026 schedule will begin on Sun\, Mar 8\, and run through Sat\, Oct 31. The timeframe provided in this event listing is an estimate – please check your tickets for the exact time slot. Your Twilight Tour will last for about 1 ½ hours. Please arrive 15 minutes early. Trained volunteer tour guides will walk you through the animal sanctuary. You will learn about the various species living at Carolina Tiger Rescue and the challenges they face in the wild\, as well as the difficulties they encounter in captivity. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and take photos\, but please note that there will be no physical contact with the animals. \nAdvance tickets are required for attendees (no walk-ins available). Tours are offered from April to October on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday evenings\, rain or shine. The cost is $32 per person\, and a maximum of 25 people may attend each tour. Tickets are available 8 weeks before your visit. \nSee more events at Carolina Tiger Rescue. \nBEFORE YOU VISIT \nThere are several things CTR would like you to know before booking your tour. Please reach the information below before purchasing your tickets: \n\nAll tours go out rain or shine. In the event of an extreme weather event\, Carolina Tiger Rescue will contact guests to inform them if a cancellation is necessary.\nPhotos may be taken during your tour after you’ve signed your visitor release.\nThe Education Center is wheelchair-accessible; however\, the gravel and grass paths may be more challenging to navigate for individuals with mobility impairments. Golf carts are available to assist guests as needed. If you have accessibility concerns\, please call 919.542.4648 to make arrangements before your visit.\nGPS may not provide accurate directions to CTR’s location. They recommend using the directions from their website to ensure a successful arrival.\nCTR does not allow outside animals anywhere on the property. Please leave your pets at home.

DESCRIPTION:Friends of Lower Haw is offering another outing in its “Take a Walk on the Wild Side” hiking series in the Lower Haw River State Natural Area\, this time with a Gabriel’s Bend Overlook Hike on Fri\, May 8\, 6pm-7pm. Join Outdoor NC Guide & Haw River native Ben Clarke and his trusty dog Rocco for a spectacular 1.5-mile round-trip evening hike down the west bank of the Haw from Highway 64. You’ll pass some of the most famous rapids on the river and lots of native mountain laurel\, which should be at the peak of their flowering season! The hike will take us to Gabriel’s Bend\, a Class III rapid where the Haw has cut a mighty cliff out of the riverbank. The trail climbs this cliff to a unique overlook surveying more than a mile of the river!  \nPlease be aware that this hike involves plenty of rock scrambling\, uneven ground on informal trails\, and the risk of poison ivy\, ticks\, and mosquitoes. Sturdy shoes\, bug spray\, and water are recommended! Friendly dogs on leash are welcome but may struggle with the terrain. DESCRIPTION:Join the Chatham Arts Council for Holds Many Secrets. Hides Many Stories: The Robeson Creek Greenway Project on Sat\, May 2\, 1pm-2:30pm at the Robeson Creek Greenway in Pittsboro. What does it feel like to really notice the world around you? This new installation by Felix Obelix (aka Wendy Spitzer) weaves together community voices\, field recordings\, original music\, and visual art into an immersive experience along the Robeson Creek Greenway in Pittsboro. Come walk\, listen\, and experience your community in a new way during the project’s premiere. \nThe project comprises a quasi-documentary audio piece\, divided into two ~11-minute sections. You’ll walk together\, listening to segment 1 in one direction\, then turn around and listen to segment 2 as you walk back to the origin point. The entire audio piece runs ~22 minutes. Then\, there will be a short presentation of the public artwork also made for this project (based on community-generated\, greenway-related bird data!)\, followed by a Q&A with the artist. \nThis free community event takes place outdoors. Participants will meet at the S. Small Street entrance to the greenway. Please be mindful of neighbors’ lawns and driveways when parking. Bring your smartphone and headphones/earbuds! You will access the audio project on your phone and listen to it through your headphones while walking the greenway together. Make sure to bring a water bottle and shoes you can walk in! Robeson Creek Greenway is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers; it is paved and relatively flat. \nParking is available along S. DESCRIPTION:Join Chatham Community Library and Friends of the Lower Haw for Trails and Treats on Sat\, May 2\, 10am-11am. Trails and Treats is the first statewide trail guide written by women in NC\, combining two favorite activities – hiking and trail running – with tasty treats that can top off your outdoor adventures. Authors Hollis Oberlies and Palmer McIntyre created this guidebook for people of all ages and abilities who want to plan a fun day exploring our state. They have selected hikes and runs in four general areas of the state – the mountains\, the Triad\, the Triangle\, and the Charlotte area. Often\, there is a trail near your home that will bring joy and gratitude\, and a workout if that’s your goal. The authors have included trail tips to help you plan your adventures\, as well as recommendations for some tasty local places to eat. Their book also includes some of their favorite breakfast and trail snack recipes that are easy to whip up\, tasty\, and nourishing. The authors hope this guide inspires you to try these trails and eats\, and to explore others throughout North Carolina or wherever you go! \nBecause 2026 is the 20th Anniversary of the Haw River Trail\, this event will include a brief presentation by Friends of Lower Haw River about the Haw River State Trail and Chatham County’s local gem\, the Lower Haw River State Natural Area. Friends of Lower Haw River is a member of the trail organizations Friends of Haw River State Trail and the Great Trails State Coalition. The event is free and open to the public. SUMMARY:Pines of the Piedmont at White Pines
DESCRIPTION:Join Triangle Land Conservancy on a gorgeous morning hike for Pines of the Piedmont on Sat\, May 2\, 9am-11:30am. Along the way\, you will meander through this unique ecosystem and learn more about the five pines you can find at White Pines Nature Preserve\, including species not typically found in the North Carolina Piedmont\, but still remain here from the last ice age due to the rivers surrounding the area creating a microclimate. This will be a moderate 2-3-mile hike that takes approximately two hours. There will be multiple stops along the way to learn about the preserve’s ecology and history. Please make sure to wear sturdy walking shoes and bring a full water bottle\, bug spray\, and sunscreen. \nThis event is free\, but pre-registration is required. If registration is closed\, please email Amaya Horner at ahorner@triangleland.org to be added to the waitlist. \nCURRENT MASK POLICY \nTLC seeks to build a supportive\, mask-friendly environment in all collaborations with staff and the public. The timeframe provided in this event listing is an estimate – please check your tickets for the exact time slot. Your Twilight Tour will last for about 1 ½ hours. Please arrive 15 minutes early. Trained volunteer tour guides will walk you through the animal sanctuary. You will learn about the various species living at Carolina Tiger Rescue and the challenges they face in the wild\, as well as the difficulties they encounter in captivity. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and take photos\, but please note that there will be no physical contact with the animals. \nAdvance tickets are required for attendees (no walk-ins available). Tours are offered from April to October on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday evenings\, rain or shine. The cost is $32 per person\, and a maximum of 25 people may attend each tour. Tickets are available 8 weeks before your visit. \nSee more events at Carolina Tiger Rescue. \nBEFORE YOU VISIT \nThere are several things CTR would like you to know before booking your tour. Please reach the information below before purchasing your tickets: \n\nAll tours go out rain or shine. In the event of an extreme weather event\, Carolina Tiger Rescue will contact guests to inform them if a cancellation is necessary.\nPhotos may be taken during your tour after you’ve signed your visitor release.\nThe Education Center is wheelchair-accessible; however\, the gravel and grass paths may be more challenging to navigate for individuals with mobility impairments. Golf carts are available to assist guests as needed. If you have accessibility concerns\, please call 919.542.4648 to make arrangements before your visit.\nGPS may not provide accurate directions to CTR’s location. They recommend using the directions from their website to ensure a successful arrival.\nCTR does not allow outside animals anywhere on the property. Please leave your pets at home.

SUMMARY:Sunset Paddle Trips
DESCRIPTION:No experience is needed for CCPRCR’s Sunset Paddle Trips. Come learn the basics of canoeing and kayaking on a trip around Jordan Lake just before the sun sets. Boats will launch from Farrington Point Boat Ramp. All supplies are provided. The Spring Session will take place Thu\, Apr 23\, 6pm-8pm. Registration opens Mon\, Mar 2 and closes Mon\, Apr 20. \nThis event is held outdoors on Jordan Lake by Chatham County Parks\, Recreation\, and Cultural Resources (CCPRCR).
