Sustainable Spirits are rotating events throughout the state and are organized by the North Carolina Composting Council. These casual networking events that bring together others who are passionate about sustainability\, composting\, healthy soils\, and climate resilience. Those who attend this one can enter a raffle to win a FREE backyard compost bin and kitchen collector\, courtesy of Chatham County Solid Waste and Recycling. Attendees can also participate in a plant swap\, with some donated plants from the Plant’s own Rachel’s Native Plants nursery. Free appetizers will also be available\, due to the support of McGill Environmental Systems. Those interested in attending this free event are encouraged to RSVP here.  \nSip and shop the Chatham Beverage District\, part of the Chatham County Craft Beverages & Country Inns Trail\, with local beers from bmc brewing\, wines and ciders from Starrlight\, spirits from Fair Game\, and sake from Koshu. Local dining available at Kingston 99 Kitchen and Ta Contento. \nMost events are rain or shine; if they have to cancel\, they will do so as far in advance as possible. Featured plant businesses will include Hempsmith Clothing Company\, Oak City Hemp\, and Carolina Hemp Tours. \nThe day’s experiences will include: \n\nHemp textiles and vendors.\nA hemp lounge.\nFarm tours.\nA panel discussion.\nLive reggae music.\n\nSip and shop the Chatham Beverage District\, part of the Chatham County Craft Beverages & Country Inns Trail\, with local beers from bmc brewing\, wines and ciders from Starrlight\, spirits from Fair Game\, and sake from Koshu. Local dining available at Kingston 99 Kitchen and Ta Contento. This free\, family-friendly event takes place indoors and outdoors. DESCRIPTION:You do not want to miss The Inn at Celebrity Dairy’s annual Open Barn hosted every Saturday\, Feb 14-Apr 18\, 12pm-5pm. Explore the barn\, scratch a mama goat behind the ears\, and cuddle with some adorable baby goats. This is a great opportunity to learn more about small farm life\, with plenty of fun for the whole family. The price is $10 per person at the gate\, with kids ages 2 and under receiving free admission. The Inn offers homemade lunch and other goodies for sale (including vegetarian options) for an additional cost. \nOpen Barns are rain or shine\, so if it’s cold\, make sure to bundle up\, and if it’s wet\, wear your boots! Most of the event takes place under cover (and the baby goats will help keep you warm)! Free parking is available on-site. No pets are allowed. \nBook a stay at the inn to get in on all the baby goat fun\, including daily baby bottle feedings! 2-hour private barn tours are also available throughout the season (February-April 2026). Celebrity Dairy will guide you through how to feed the goats and answer all your goat-related questions. Bookings are $225 for groups of up to 15 and $15 per additional guest. Your private tour includes a free cup of goat gelato\, with cheese samplers available for an additional cost. \nPlease note that no open barn will take place on Sat\, Mar 28 – come see Celebrity Dairy and celebrate Chatham County agriculture at Spring Ag Fest 2026. \nPart of the Chatham County Craft Beverages and Country Inns Trail.
