For the 33rd year\, the Chatham Artists Guild proudly presents this rare opportunity to connect with local artists in an intimate setting – unlike any gallery or museum! \nTake a relaxing drive through Chatham County’s rolling hills and pastoral farmlands to visit 59 talented artists in 41 studios that dot the countryside\, with both private studios and visitor businesses participating. Meet the artists\, learn about their process and artistic vision\, and browse affordable original works of art. Grab a bite to eat in town\, pack a picnic for your road trip\, or skip the drive home and stay in one of our accommodations. \nThe Chatham Artists Guild Studio Tour is FREE and self-guided. Studios are scattered throughout Chatham County\, including Pittsboro\, Fearrington Village\, Bynum\, Chapel Hill (Chatham County)\, Sanford (Chatham County)\, and Apex (Chatham County). In addition to the private studios\, tour exhibits are on display at Chatham Mills (student art) and Smelt Art Gallery at The Plant. \nWhat can I do while I’m in Chatham County? Is there somewhere to eat? To stay?\nAlong the way\, you’ll discover delicious food and drink\, eclectic shops\, and charming accommodations. Pair local food and art with a seasonal meal from one of our numerous farm-to-fork eateries. Not all vendors are there every week\, but some vendors are there every week\, year-round. Each market features live music. Vendors include Celebrity Dairy\, In Good Heart Farm\, and bmc brewing. They were planted in 2005 and have become significant bearers of chestnut fruit. There will be roasted chestnuts\, chestnut shelling demonstrations\, chestnut trees for sale at Rachel’s Native Plants\, chestnut cocktails from Fair Game Beverage Company\, and chestnut beer from Fullsteam Brewing. On-demand Chestnut Carnival shirts will be available from Hempsmith Clothing Company. Chestnut dishes will be on the menu at Kingston 99 Kitchen. \nThis event takes place indoors and outdoors. In late October\, Hurricane Melissa devastated rural farming communities in St. Ann\, destroying 70% of the homes and 80% of the farms\, leaving families without shelter\, crops\, or a reliable income. This community event — led by Kingston 99’s Jason Rhoden (hails from the St. Ann community) — brings neighbors together to learn\, connect\, and give what they can toward recovery. \nThere will be a vendor market and live music\, along with food and drinks available for purchase from tenants at The Plant. Every dollar raised supports food\, seeds\, building materials\, and essential supplies. If you can’t attend in person\, you can donate directly to the GoFundMe supporting families in John Reid\, Cuffridge\, and Davis Town\, St. Ann. \nThis event takes place indoors and outdoors.
