They’ll also enjoy a variety of creative and interactive experiences\, such as arts and crafts\, active games\, storytelling\, improv theater\, and more! Every day\, campers will enjoy delicious vegan snacks and cook their own plant-based lunches alongside a talented vegan chef. \nThe heart of Camp Compassion is building meaningful connections with the amazing animals at the Refuge\, including goats\, sheep\, chickens\, turkeys\, ducks\, geese\, cows\, and one delightful guinea fowl named Frizzle! Their knowledgeable tour guides will be stationed throughout the refuge to tell enchanting stories of animal rescues and introduce you to each animal by name. While visiting\, be sure to see their serene\, curved brick animal memorial\, unique architectural designs\, and beautiful pavilion. Here\, you can purchase refuge merchandise and learn even more about their mission. \nIn addition to meeting our 100+ farm animal residents and learning their rescue stories\, you can enjoy delicious vegan eats from two local vendors: Soul’s Kitchen and Xochitla. Not all vendors are there every week\, but some vendors are there every week\, year-round. Each market features live music. Vendors include Celebrity Dairy\, In Good Heart Farm\, and bmc brewing. See their full list of vendors. \nCome early if you’d like to review what is being offered; sales begin at the scheduled time\, signaled by the bell. Bring along small bills ($20 or lower) to pay for your purchase. Some vendors accept credit and debit cards\, and most will accept checks. This event takes place outdoors\, rain or shine. Vendors include Celebrity Dairy\, In Good Heart Farm\, and Vortex Roasters. Many chefs at restaurants in our area network with Pittsboro Farmers Market vendors\, including Kingston 99 Kitchen and West End Kitchen & Catering. You can find a complete\, up-to-date list of vendors here. \nSpecial markets are hosted on occasion. \nThe Pittsboro Farmers Market takes place outdoors\, rain or shine. Leashed\, well-behaved pets are allowed. Entry is free. Bringing your own bags\, cash\, and a cooler for perishable items is advised.
